Are the chances of him coming back next year

a) absolute zero, meaning it's not possible at all under any circumstances, or
b) tiny chance (~5%) pending him wanting to come back and the NCAA approving it

I'm going to go with 2% chance. Its not happening.

What is his upside for staying. I don't know that it's even 50/50 he would have a better yr or increase is draft stock.

Less than zero.

Junior Year (2023 at Ohio State): Started all 12 games

Sophomore Year (2022 at Ohio State): Appeared in 7 games

Freshman Year (2021 at Ohio State): Appeared in 5 games

What's there for the NCAA to approve?

Yeah i don't think there is much chance to win another year even if he wanted to. He played in a 5th game Nov 20th of 2021 and was 4 of 8 passing for 17 yds. Its not like he only got in and handed the ball off a couple of times. Should Day have put him in the game during garbage time of a Michigan St game where they won 56-7 to give up a season of eligibility? The answer is definitely No but I still don't think he has much to stand on to win another year back.

I've seen a handful of posts on here over the past few months suggesting there was a very slight possibility of an exemption. I wasn't sure if they had any validity.

There’s precedent from within the last year of it not happening.

Less than zero? What does that look like? Is he allowed to finish the current season? Do they give him a literal physical kick in the tuchus out the door after the Miami game?

He would be guaranteed at least a million if he came back, no guaranteed money if he leaves.
He gone though.

we won't get the other thread to 173 pages if we do this.
OX has a very difficult decision here. Almost as difficult as Kyle’s decision.

Does he merge these 19 posts in the main thread thrusting us more quickly towards 400 page glory? Or does he let Eric’s thread stand alone as evidence of the many posters that owe David an apology? Tough call!!
