wins summary b4 that
146-26

I have several feelings about this. They can all be summarized by LGO!

One of the realities of college basketball is that the difference between winning and losing is oftentimes the slimmest of margins. The 25-0 streak could have easily have been 18-7 as we weren't exactly crushing teams by disparate scores. We all recall the 2/3 court desperation heave by Ennis for the win. Tyler takes that same shot 10 times... lucky if it goes in once.

Also, our record this year could be much better and if you look back you'll note that we were right in pretty much every game we lost until the closing couple minutes. To paraphrase what I've heard JB say, "when it comes down to the end of the game you have to make plays, you have to be able to get a stop". When it came down to crunch time we were not making the good plays or getting the stop defensively.

The law of averages, given enough time for an adequate sample size, always seems to prevail. During that 25-0 streak which was cobbled together by mixing favorable bounces with good luck and some streaky shooting, we were sidestepping the inevitable not so lucky bounces and shots that showed up in spades after that first loss.

The good news in all of this is that this team, unlike the 25-0 team, has paid up front with the bad ju ju moments/ games manifesting right after the season's start and perhaps this year's edition might have a surprising flourish at seasons end much to the delight of Orange fans everywhere!

LGO!!!

Well, that was also the year we entered the ACC. Is that poor record a result of being in the ACC, having below average teams or both?

I think the last 5-6 years of the Big East were usually a little tougher top to bottom than the ACC has been since we joined. I think it's been us. We had some early entrees combined with recruits that didn't pan out at the same time(as well as a few season ending injuries to key players).

Didn't realize our run was that dominant, wow.

Sorry, man — pet peeve.
DominANT. Something IS.
DominATE. Something you DO.

I wish my pet peeves were at this level. Mine are more broad like taxes are too high. Too much war. Currency manipulation. The purchasing power of my take home pay. I would just love to get to the place were my pet peeve was nant over nate. That would be so sweat.

My bad, I actually do know how to properly use them but didn't there for some reason. Maybe I wasn't paying attention. Anyways, didn't realize we were that dominant! ;) Thanks, Zelda!

Since the North Carolina game we are 3-0. I feel better about the team and the program right now than I have since we were 25-0.

Recruiting against the acc will be tough (will be an adjustment). Recruiting against emmert and ncaa is even tougher...

I just hope the move to the acc didnt directly have something to do w the ncaa hammer coming down the way it did. If Roy and unc get off light for unc's widesweeping transgressions, i think i may know the answer to that ...

Yeah, those are genuine aggravations, and not something I can tackle in 20 seconds over the Internet. But, don't think I don't have bigger issues, as well...

I'm just glad you received this with the same good cheer with which it was intended.
