Slightly OT: fixed uniforms

With all of the ridiculous changes week by week by several teams (including Syracuse on a smaller scale), I'd love to see teams pick one uniform at the beginning of the season that they must wear throughout the year. Preferably, I'd like to see them go back to the late 90's uniforms (especially Syracuse). Schools like Oregon, Maryland, UCLA, and Boise St have led the charge, but it is honestly getting really annoying.

I agree with MadNY about watching the brand of football versus the brand they're wearing, but it is just an eye-sore most of the time. I understand what the main schools (Oregon - Nike, Maryland - Under Armour) are doing. It is a fantastic marketing tool for those specific companies, as well as for the schools because kids these days like that crap. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but give me 1998's uniforms all over again and I'm happier than a camel on a Wednesday.

I am all for the players wanting to be jazzed about the uniforms they wear. But what I really want, is when a viewer turns on his tv, I want them to know instantly that they are watching Syracuse.

i have stood on a soap box for years, and obviously more so in 2013, stating that the uni you show should be the #1 home uni. that would then obviously put it in play as the away 1 as well.

building off of that, do your 1 off all blue, black, white, gray or whatever.

key phrase '1 off'. abide by it.

Agree - 98 uniforms. Get rid of the S. The browns dont need it, we dont either. Unless we get a badass Saltine Warrior logo on the side of the helmet, the S doesnt add anything.

I wouldnt mind seeing a chrome orange helmet once in a while, but other than that, i think we stick with tradition and try to stick our foot in the ground like Alabama, ped state and all the other "traditional powers"

One of the "excuses" for our hideous blue-fade helmets is that the players were involved in their selection/design. The question that I'd like to see answered is:

Were these helmets selected/designed from scratch or were the players simply given options provided by Nike for player selection?

I honestly think it is the latter because there is no question in my mind that the players would not have designed something so lame. Nike sucks.

Something like this with a slightly different shade of orange would be much better than what we have now. Even a chrome orange camo themed helmet would have been a decent option.

Nobody will ever agree. But I think the least likely thing to happen is that we'll go back to McNabb era uniforms. Give up that dream.
