Teams look to be knocking down 3's much easier so this year. So far all 3 teams have made double figure 3's

Cornell 10 31%
Fordham 11 40%
Colgate 11 39%

Last season we only allowed 4 teams to make double figure 3's for the ENTIRE season. Obviously Ennis/Cooney is a big step back from MCW/Triche, but this may be something we need to look out for.

Not worried. we have had similar height in the backcourt before and defended the 3 well. Our guards just need some more experience. Colgate hit some contested 3s today

I thought the 3pt defense was generally fine today - a few semi-open looks but most of Colgate's makes were contested. 2nd half of the Fordham game? not so much

This trend began with the Carlton game this summer. I am afraid that the combo of Ennis/Cooney don't have size to prevent 3's. They also do not seem to have the lateral quickness to extend the zone and recover quickly enough to avoid compromising the zone.

We seem to build on the 2/3 as the season goes on. We always get burned by some of these early teams with the 3 shooting. I notice it takes a while into the season before we really start extending the zone out more. Especially with a freshman, it may take a bit. The early good teams could be a problem because of this. We may lose a game before we leave the state of New York (Hawaii cough cough) in January.

We've been lazy defending the perimeter. Simple as that. I didn't see last nights game but Cooney better look out. G adds more length to our zone, and if he's more effective of a scorer than Cooney? Then yikes.

It's only been 3 games though, hopefully we have things figured out after Maui.
