Way too many negative Nancy’s. Too, too many conspiracy theorists for me. We have an excellent coach, we lost horribly last esweek. We list horribly to Pitt last year. How about one game at a time. Never mind give him a bag ! Well that may not be enough to keep him! He should fire his DC! Let’s let it play out. SU has the best talent they have had collecting in 40 years. Probably the youngest D in all of P4 football, that leads to inconstancies. Just pump the brakes, I don’t think the sky is falling, however, if it is duck and cover.

Will another week make Collins hand less slippery? Will it make him throw with better timing and accuracy so he doesn't get his receivers killed. Maybe? If not then on top of inaccurate throws through the season we will start seeing alligator arms and hesitation when receiving. If you can't trust your QB to not get you killed you don't have a viable QB. Trust goes a long way.

Agree. I'm sure Fran meant it when he said it. The fact is, Fran is a very competitive guy, and that's a good thing. If you are competitive and confident, you see no reason why you can't do it at the highest level.

There is a level where the name of the school opens doors to recruits. There is a level that provides $$$ for NIL and other toys that he doesn't have at SU. There is a level that can provide $$$ for his family that SU likely will never be able to match. There is a level where the national exposure and adulation can do wonders for your ego. There just is, and we all know that.

Mac was here until he wasn't. Marrone too. I once got a job in mid-career where I told my wife I could see myself being there forever. Within 18 months, I was scattering resumes by crop duster.

So you just never know. What he said on Day 1 was based upon that day, and I am sure he meant it. I believe that he didn't (and doesn't) look at it as a stepping stone. Frankly, he would be foolish to limit his career options based upon something he said at his first PC as a head coach. I hope he stays for as long as he is able to make SU relevant and successful. We all do. But people are allowed to change their minds. Fingers crossed that he accomplishes all we hope for and decides that staying in CNY offsets whatever else he can get. Time will tell.
