Awkward Oh No GIF by CBC

I really hope Fran gets wind of this.

I still believe in Fran and what he wants to do…I’m disappointed in these last few weeks but how would it look if he pulled this kid after a quarter of play? Behind the scenes he has also had to answer to families he’s invested in and his players but Collins right now isn’t panning out, I feel like the game is too fast for him right now and he didn’t ask for this either but we are here now so hopefully Fran can right this ship

What did he say? For some reason, video isn't playing for me.

He said he lost respect for Rickie because a coach yelled at him on TV. ;)

For real though he said he left the game early, called it high school football, and basically he's worried Johntay might not make the league with Rickie tossing at QB. He seems to want Johntay to go back to Texas.

Host's face was all priceless, like, you're not wrong but what the heck am I supposed to say to this.

Senior wide receiver Justus Ross-Simmons missed the second half of Saturday’s loss to Southern Methodist with an ankle injury.

Ross-Simmons, who was later seen with crutches, had two catches on six targets for 58 yards before exiting the game.

“His ankle was supposed to be messed up,” Syracuse coach Fran Brown said after the game. “But I’m not sure where it’s at.”

Brown had no other update on the severity of the injury or how long Ross-Simmons would be sidelined.

Actual quote, he, Collins, "That boy sucked in practice" to. Goes on to say that's HS stuff (referring to Collins play),

Quote, "maybe Luke Carney ain't the answer either But I ain't seen a quarterback throw the ball backwards since the 80s " ..., not ready to be a #1,

My favorite quote though was this one, "i'm going to get on the phone with his father to see what we can do because we can't let Ricky ruin our chances to get to the league".

"...our..."

Tells you all you need to know.

Is he suggesting Coach Fran was gaslighting that it was a close contest preseason for QB1? A number of people here have suggested that also. Maybe even me.

I’m one of them.

You can’t watch Angeli and then Collins and think that competition was close.

Not saying it was McNabb-Kevin Johnson level of BS, but it was some steaming BS.

Did Fran not have a post-game press conference?? I'm looking everywhere and cant find anything. Nothing from reporters either

Frans gunna have his hands full behind the scenes these next two weeks. No way this is the only one theyre gunna have to deal with. He better figure out how to get a semi serviceable QB. Carney, Williams, or getting Rickies head out of his own rear (which seems leastly likely at this point)

I think we will keep Collins as QB but change the O a bit. That is what I hear when Fran talks. Problem is I don’t think Nixon has enough depth or variety in run plays.

Fran is gonna have his hands full next year too. Do you think other teams won't notice Steve Angeli was basically the whole team? Steve is going to get a raise in the offseason one way or the other. I hope he's loyal to SU.

He threw 3 INTs and had a QBR of 37 against the worst passing defense in FBS. Not sure how you scheme around that level of garbage. Hes got more picks than passing TDs on the season. Our run game needs some balance to be successful. I just dont know how you make it work with him as your starter.

We are going to have to pony up. That’s the game. We have systems that work with playmakers if we have a qb that can distribute.

To be fair, I don’t think anyone other than OttoGrotto ever talks about it.

Other than perhaps for injury, it’s a dead concept.
And I'm not communicating my point well.

If you're going to blow a redshirt, BLOW THE REDSHIRT.

Get that guy on the field as much as you can and get as much production as you can out of him.

If Carney gets the ball and we end up playing him in 5 games, 1 of which was for 1 play, the staff screwed up and did him dirty.

It's exactly the same conversation us Cuse fans had on the board about Ryan Day mishandling McCord's eligibility.

Yes. With Angeli, SU can score vs a top SEC defense, come back late in the 4Q and win in Death Valley.

Without Angeli, SU struggles to score against bottom feeder defenses.

The reliance on one guy is just incredible. QB-needy teams will notice.

But that was before the true pay for play and instant transfer era. (I think).

But even if it wasn’t Ohio State is in a different stratosphere anyway. We only cared because their decision suddenly impacted us.
