does Dino keep being the slow play king?

63 plays a game last year
65 the year before

In 17 and 18 it was 85 plays per

IMO, they need to find a way to run more plays. If Stonehouse is as good as advertised and the defensive depth is better, you can’t be afraid of three and outs and wearing down the defense. I’m not saying be reckless, but don’t be so deliberate.

We ran 85 in the Pinstripe with Beck at the helm.

I don't know if we'll average that, but I think Beck will play faster than we've seen recently.
Yes

Quick to the line quick dump off passes out of the backfield and runs

Going to need three backs this year

Need to figure in running clock will probably reduce total plays a bit
The games seemed significantly faster on Saturday. I am too lazy to look it up but they all seemed to be around three hours.

If we get more first downs I suspect we get to run more plays.
Generally, better offense = > plays, unless your defense scores or you hit on chunk plays. I don't see tempo as a goal or an identity; it's an in-game strategy to be employed when useful.

This ^^^. Definitely in game strategy to be used more surgically when timing is right. Which has been the case the last 2 years.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind quite a few 40+ yard TD's by the O. I think SU has the D talent/depth to be able to handle the shorter rest period.

If you took this to the extreme though 5 less plays over the season would equate to about 5 less games and thus a few injuries may go away?

But its not a big deal either way for the most part. It may mean 5 less for one team

I think that the "Orange is the new fast" has run its course. It was novel at the P-5 level when Dino got here, but as more teams started to use it, more teams learned how defend against it (how many ghost injuries do we see?).

The name has run its course, especially since it's named after a show that ended 4 years ago.

But playing fast really depends on a bunch of factors. More personnel/staff/strategy related. If we can do it again, we should.
