Wonder how serious that is, and what he would have to see to cut a fifth-year senior. Perhaps just a motivational tool here?

This sort of happens everywhere though. I mean SU told Sloan it was time to move along. When Marrone came in, he had frank discussions with kids and told them they probably wouldn't play. Addazio trimmed something like 20 guys off of BC in Spring 14. Nothing out of the ordinary for a new coach.

Harbaugh might still be a douche, but this isn't going to cause him trouble when recruiting.
