We all are human with faults galore and a lot of these players are young. How does HCDB keep them focused when the student body is telling them they are great (add other compliments) and keeping them focused and their heads in the game? Yes, it is undefeated Miami but human nature is a funny thing and we all tend to do some lazin around or the like when our heads get pumped up by our peers...all of us can be guilty of this.

There will definitely be a "Kum Ba Yah" speech this week.

I have full confidence Babers will temper these kids. A loss this week minimizes last week's win against Clemson.

One game at a time. They can win any game they're in.

Dungey is so competitive...I just can’t see him not being up. Everyone seems to follow his lead

Yeah, I assume the leaders will help keep this dog in the hunt. Football is such an emotional game and this is where the line gets crossed.

I think both the offense and defense found themselves in the game against Clemson and will want to see if what they learned last week will carry over this week. They clicked on both sides against a superior team, but it was at home which provided a large dose of adrenaline. I don't see Miami being as hostile as some stadiums so maybe it won't be a big factor, but this week it will be loud at the wrong times...

Love to know how he'll handle this. It's nice to have this "problem" as well.

Make them watch the MTSU game

“ We did what we had to do win – we just kept fighting and believing and scrapping. And that's a tremendous trait for a football team. Because there's many times we could have sacked our bags and put our heads down and started feeling sorry for ourselves, but we never did that. It's just a tribute to our players and our leadership of the team and the coaches. Everybody. There's something going on that's really good right now. Who knows where it's going to go from here? I have no idea. The train could come off the tracks at any time. That's just the way football is. To do what we did two weeks in a row was pretty darn good. I'm really proud of everybody." Mark Richt, HC Miami

Sound familiar?

Here we go again! Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. No Dome filled with Orange. There will be Orange fans - plenty of them in South Fla., so there will be orange of a different Pantone color. And there will be another undefeated team waiting for us. We’ll do what we have to to win. “ It’s a belief we have in ourselves that no one believes,” per Eric Dungey except the team. Fine with me , but I think there are more believers now than Friday night. We just have to believe in them and I do. They’re watching film as I write this and nobody has to keep them up, they do that on their own. DB’s presence adds a special ingredient IMHO. GOSU!

ACC vs Syracuse

  • The last time we had a quality road win was Missouri in 2012.
  • Syracuse football has gotten beaten up on most of its visits to Florida over the past decade.
  • How many Florida players do we have? And how many were overlooked by the U? Show 'em they were wrong.
  • "The Nation thinks we pulled off an upset last Friday. I know and you know that we fought harder and did better over not just those 60 minutes, but back in May when you were doing the sprints while no one was looking. You ready to show the world that la familia esta may bueno? Let's show the 'Canes what you are capable of."

I can tell you with certainty there's a zero chance of any sort of let down. These kids (in a good way) have a Gibraltar size chip on their shoulder such that they appear to be on some sort of mission.

Not saying we win this game (yet at least), but that we will give a good showing and accounting of themselves. Some injured guys return, the O is clicking, the coaching staff and most especially "the coach" is focused and energized and most importantly the kids are buying what he's selling. Our talent is no longer chasms away from these traditionally elite teams, the trips an easy one, we have some kids from there who will want to send their own message.

No get ready for repeat barn burner. If they somehow pull off another one I may just have to shoot myself (in the foot only I wanna see how the rest of the season plays out!).

House money game against another undefeated top 1o team. Show them the 90's games when this program was right there with the U.

They should be full of confidence and let it rip. Kids are going home, 3:30 game. It's all good.
Miami isn't Bama. This isn't a "house money" game in my eyes.. Not when we're trying to build a program and are sitting at 4-3, a win away from being Nationally Ranked and relevant again

One of two things usually happens after a win like that...

1) The team binds and launches forward. It can be the type of event that gives the guys the utmost confidence in themselves and their teammates... From that, they become ultra motivated and competitive to get to that next step/level.

2) They are emotionally and physically spent and come out (no matter who the opponent) flat and worn out. This is typically reserved for the team's more prone to basking in the limelight than getting to work on accomplishing bigger goals. Mentally soft if you will.

I honestly believe that this is the type of team that will propel forward... Not because I'm an unwavering homer, but, because of the leadership guiding this team.

Ultra competitive guys, especially with a little success behind them, have a tendency to rub off on their peers. Now, if you're losing, this can be a disastrous situation. When you're winning, the growth in confidence can be truly amazing. I think with ED/ZF/PB/SI/EP, as well as some others leading the way, this team is going to continue to develop at a very fast rate.

I'm not saying we'll win, but, we have the ability to. I just hope I'm right about the direction this team is headed right now.

Having the game on national TV should be a big motivator.

They will be focused on Miami. But will they play with that intensity for four quarters?

They will want to show that Clemson was no fluke and they are for real.
To me, I don't think this team need to create motivationioal angles or mindsets on a week-to-week basis. That's dangerous and will prove costly eventually.

The ultimate objective each Saturday should simply be to play better, get better, put the program's best foot forward. Yes, we beat a terrific program Friday night. Great. Let's get back to doing what we do best. Work hard and embrace the process.

Like Dino said, "we don't need you to be making plays all over the field, we need you to do your job!"
