no worse than 3rd in the division and very, very, very outside shot at the conference championship game.

To finish first, Clemson has to beat NCSt this week and lose to FSU.

NCst in addition to losing to Clemson needs to lose two out of three to Wake, BC, and UNC.

If all that were to happen SU would be playing for the conference.

If SU goes 4-0, BC, Wake, Lville and FSU can't catch up, all have 3 or 4 conference losses already.

If we get thru this weekend then we can start to dream.. NC st losing to Clemson to make it 2 in a row who knows after that..

FSU has one statement game left and FL to play for the SRs and the coaches.

If we could have finished off one drive vs Miami that dream would really have seemed alive.

That should also get SU back in the top 25. With this schedule, they might crack the top 20.

Unfortunately, I think the bowl options for Syracuse are really limited, even if they run the table.

BC or Syracuse, whichever has the better record, appears to be destined for the Pinstripe Bowl.

Right now, a rematch with Minnesota and our good friend, AD Mark Coyle, looks very possible.

If both BC and Syracuse are bowl eligible, I bet the team with the worse record gets exiled to Detroit.

My autoschediastic statistical analysis says we have about a 6% chance of this happening. Not bad at all!

where does the ACC Champion play? Just curious what bowl they are tied into (assuming it's not a playoff bound team)?

I wish I had a better feeling about the game this weekend. Really worried about the safety position with Cordy and Martin both out. Hope Scoop is back at least so we're stronger at corner. Their QB is struggling, but he can still hit big plays against us, and Akers can change the game at RB if he gets enough room.

FSU is getting destroyed this week on TV/radio. If they have any pride left, we're going to see it this weekend. They found a way to win against Wake and Duke. BC was their one garbage game. I just don't see that happening again.

Where I have confidence that I haven't had in the past, is that no matter what version of FSU we see, we'll hang around. Really just need a couple breaks, turnovers, something. We can be our own worst enemy at times. That stuff will get cleaned up, but it's still only year 2 of this new era.

Hope I'm wrong, hope they fold quickly, their crowd turns on them, and we get more of the team that BC played.

Martin was hurt early in the Clemson game. He only played a little special teams after that, has not played safety since. Rodney Williams came in to replace him and I think has helped the defense. I think he has actually played a little better than Martin did at safety.

Regarding Scoop, last I knew, Dowels was recently banged up too and I think we ended the Miami game with Butler at CB and Jones trying to fill in as the nickel. Scoop is our best cover guy. It would be great to have him back and put Butler back at the nickel. The pass defense is a lot better when we can play like that.

the safety play against the run has been mostly solid, ,but a few mistakes have led to huge runs that hurt. Not sure the play against the pass has been really that solid, but we stick them in man a bunch which skews those results. Thats what happens when teams go 4-5 wide and you dont have a ton depth. We end up with 1-2 Lbs playing slot guys or safety playing like a corner.. the same stuff we are trying to do with our offense except other teams tend to have 2-3 guys that have speed advantage on us and we tend to not have any.. Someday that changes

I'm guessing that if the Orange beat the clowns and is eligible ..its Pinstripe.

The clowns won't beat ncst.

At worst in this scenario, it's 2 6-6 teams with 1 having beat the other...and who shows in NYC.

Get your vacation days lined up...

I know they're all just guessing, but its interesting that of all the writers that do weekly bowl projections, none have us in Pinstripe. They project us to Shreveport, Detroit, or Annapolis.

I think guessing is the key word.

If they put any thought into it, they'd have Cuse, the clowns, Pitt, lville and maybe wake as only options.

Then once they figured out that all will be tied or have a 1 game difference, the Yankees would grab a NE team.

Get Cuse in now, because they gonna be too good for that bowl in coming years...

I agree, we need to get through this weekend, dont like that FSU is coming off a BC thrashing.

FSU is in meltdown mode, come off a thrashing, 2/3 empty stadium, fans there ready to launch at the least negative thing.

6 play 1:30 drive TD on the first possession, 3 and out on defense. Game over.

I’d like to place an order for a defensive TD on that first FSU possession.

Like your mindset, go Cuse!!!

While it is a bowl and would be awesome, Dino would want to play at Yankee Stadium in December like he’d want Perry Patterson as his quarterback.

Unless he renegotiated the ACC Bowl affiliations, I got some bad news for him as to where he will land bowl wise unless he’s got em ranked in the Top 12.

i dont think he cares where he goes and you could get 30 or 50 in dec in NYC. you get pretty crappy bowl weather in lots of places that time of year, its pot luck for all but about 10 of the bowls

Unless the BC rule kicks in, we'd get the better bowl.
