So little interest in Selection Show

Normally I'm a nervous wreck right now. Even when Cuse is a lock.

Come on. Get over the no SU blues. This is the big tournament. I'm watching, and will be watching plenty of tournament games too.

Choose NBA.

I liked it back when the Knicks were exciting to watch and always had tough playoff rivalries(ie Jordan and the Bulls). For now, I'll just choose life. Eventually, maybe I'll choose hard drugs. Speaking of drugs, the NBA reminds me of one that no longer has an effect on me. It is what it is.

As for the selection show, I'm interested, but not enough to watch. Why bother to sit through it and be reminded of the usual tension and excitement when I can just come here and read a super in depth analysis and read the predigested, proper way I should feel? ;)

I had my Dook in-laws over for dinner... talk about the need for wine. Hell, I'm still drinking and about ready to go out on the porch to enjoy a cigar. My wife is actually a very reasonable Dook fan, but my brother-in-law and parents, oh my gad. My wife has even said, as a Dook fan, that YOU ARE THE REASON PEOPLE HATE DOOK. She was getting at their arrogance and belief that they are so superior that everyone wants to be a Crazie.

At any rate, back to the selection show, thank gad for wine and the fact that I was grilling where I could spend most my time outside. It sucked though... this is usually the day I mark on my calendar and just a few days later, the two days I take off from work. Oh well, not this year, and that's okay I guess because we should be in good shape next year.

Now... DOWN with Kentucky... DOWN with Dook... DOWN with Villanova (the in-law thing again)... DOWN with Kansas. This year is all about feeling better as I see other fans cry. Yeah, whatever, I want to see tears... Kentucky and Dook the most. :)

I had my blank bracket and my two highlighters (orange for Thurs-Sat and blue for Fri-Sun) ready to go.

Business as usual.

There will be excellent games in both the tourney and the NBA playoffs.

Very drastically different styles-- one game upsets vs drawn out high pressure 7 game series.

All of it will be great. But I cannot for the life of me understand how you can't watch the western conference playoffs this year and not enjoy it.

I'm trying to be a better person and even let the golden rule encroach on what remains of my sports interests, but I really can relate about Kentucky and Duke! Maybe Kansas and UNC for good measure. :)
Other than those, I'm trying to be a bit more detached and to avoid reveling in the misery of others. Heck, I'll likely even root for the old Big East teams for the experience they gave us for years, no more tears.

You know CBB sucks when I'm looking at every bracket and saying to myself "easiest bracket ever!" Then realize I've said that for every bracket.

I didn't watch it. Probably watched all of 3 minutes of conference tourneys. Neighborhood St. Patty's Day party was a nice distraction yesterday (but I'm paying for that today).

I'll fill out a bracket. I'm sure I'll watch March Madness if we have it on at the office. But I'm just not all that into it for longer than I can remember. Focusing my energy on end of NHL season and start of the Yankees season.

I try to stay open minded so maybe I'll give it a shot and see how I feel. In the past it was different because I had teams and players I liked/disliked, but at some point that faded away. For me personally, it's been hard to get into something where the outcome doesnt matter to me. I suppose I can try to change!

Dude...do it. I'm telling you. Appreciate just how insane these players all. The dribbling, the shooting, the floor spacing, the passing, the defensive rotations, the athleticism. It's the best basketball in the world by >>>>>>>>.

Actually, your post reminded me that I've been focusing my attention on the frenzy of moves in the NFL like one of those rats in experiments that gets some liquid coke every time it presses a button with it's nose.

The Clippers / Rockets game is infinitely more entertaining and will be 10x better than any tourney game you will watch. Choose NBA.
but nba is meaningless basketball during regular season

That's an oft-repeated refrain from people who don't watch the NBA. Pretty meaningful, and exciting, double OT game tonight between Denver and Nawlins, which is fighting OKC for playoff spot; New Orleans lost, but Anthony Davis 36 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 9 blocks. Ridiculous talent in that game.

Earlier, excellent game between the Bulls and Thunder, exciting 2-point win for Houston at the Clippers, Cavs hit 18 or 35 threes against a meh Orlando team, Kyrie Irving follows up 57-point game the other night with 33 (12-15 from the field), JR Swish 25 points, LBJ 13 assists, great team play.

No doubt guys pick and choose their spots to pace themselves and deal with an 82-game regular season so they'll be ready for up to another two months of post-season, but if you watch the NBA, you'll see the greatest players from around the world playing the game at an amazingly high level night in, night out.
