My nephew's birthday is Final Four weekend, I've explained to my sister-in-law that as much as I love my nephew, he has a birthday every year and I've known Syracuse longer.

I don't think you're obligated to go to the 2nd bar mitvah. Seriously, a Final Four is pretty rare.

Elite 8: I say bribe your daughter. Tell her that she can choose between you going to her play, or you giving her $100.
Final Four: skip that sh-t. What's the worst that will happen? They'll remain not a good friend.

Son of extremely close friends is getting married at 7:30 pm on Saturday, March 31, in Chicago. All the family members are like family to me (in fact, I am closer to them then I am to any blood relative).

Dad and groom understand why I hope to be in New Orleans that evening. Mom and bride ... not so much.

(However, they cannot say they were not warned. Last July, when they told me the wedding date, I said: "Are you serious? I hope to be in New Orleans then for the Final Four").

in 2003 I gave up FF tickets to stay home for my daughters ice skating show. It was postponed due to the ice storm. I told my wife that if they didn't have it on Sunday I was going to take her out to a pond and watch her do her routine. Of course, I was able to watch on TV.

I wouldn't worry. According to some posters, as soon as we get rid of JB, we will be in the Final Four every year.
