I would tend to agree with you regarding LSU unless Ward improves significantly. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn yesterday but threw that perfect pass/bomb to Dupree (I think) in the second half against us.

After yesterday's EMU's game, I think their defense has been exposed also. Maybe they'll get better once they get deeper into their SEC schedule and their motivation picks up.

east mich only had a little over 250 yds, they had 14 pts at the half on 80 yds

Any team not bringing it every week, regardless of opponent, in my opinion, shouldn't be in the top 25.

It would depend on how talented that team is. In this case, LSU underperformed and still smashed EMU.

EDIT: Not disagreeing with you at all, some teams have a ridiculous amount of talent stockpiled. It makes their margin of error on wins a lot larger.

That's exactly what I was saying originally. They thought they should've played better, or underperformed, and that mailing it in was an excuse for that. I was never confronting your post, just my opinion on that statement.

And, I think they're going to underperform again this season. If they finish with less than two losses I'll be surprised. There's going to come a time where they will have to lean on the pass, and, right now I don't think they're capable of that.

No worries, and I think that they will underperform again as well, not sure it will result in a loss but I think it will happen.

I also agree that they will have to pass to win games this season and at the moment they aren't capable.

Was far from perfect - very much under thrown. the receiver made a great adjustment. Could have very easily been an interception has Whigham turned to the ball.

While I agree that this young team will be uneven, the ACC looks soft this year and if we got to say, 6-1, we might get rated or at least get a bunch of points. An upset against FSU or Clemson is also not impossible.

If we drop one or two that we think we shouldn't, we won't impress anybody but ourselves.

We need to beat BC, NCS and Louisville since they are in our division. We win these three, not only will we be bowl eligible, but we would be no worse than 4-4 in conference and would have good shot at one of the better bowls (3-6). Were we to also beat UVA, we would be at least 5-3 in the ACC. That said, I really would like to beat Pitt.

1. Orange Bowl - ACC Champ
2. The Russell Athletic Bowl (Orlando, FL) will have the first selection of ACC teams after the Orange Bowl and College Football Playoff. The ACC will face the #3 team out of the Big 12.
3. Capital One Bowl vs. SEC (conditional)
   An ACC team will only play in the Capital One Bowl (Orlando, FL) when the Orange Bowl hosts a Big Ten team, presumably against an SEC opponent.
4. The Gator Bowl (Jacksonville, FL), Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN), Belk Bowl (Charlotte, NC), Sun Bowl (El Paso, TX), and Pinstripe Bowl (New York City, NY) will be pooled together and selections will be made after the College Football Playoff, Orange Bowl, Capital One Bowl (when applicable) and Russell Athletic Bowl. Selections are expected to be based on geography, opponents, avoiding regular season rematches, etc.
   The ACC will have full tie-ins with the Belk Bowl (vs SEC), Sun Bowl (vs PAC 12), and Pinstripe Bowl (vs Big 10). The ACC and Big Ten will split the Gator (vs SEC) and Music City (vs SEC) bowls with each conference receiving three appearances apiece during the 6-year cycle.

I'm not trying to be confrontational, but, there is just no way on earth you can substantiate that statement. These are more my general thoughts towards that statement as a whole. I think that line of thinking as a whole is an excuse for teams who think they should've beat somebody worse. It's BS, you prepare for your opponent every week, there's not an opportunity to look past them.

I know this, LSU has looked underwhelming the two times I've seen them. How many times are they going to "look past" an opponent the rest of this year? My guess is at least twice more.

I was guessing 3 times and they were 8-5 last year
