well, atleast part of it...

Tomaselli said in a sworn statement to Syracuse police that he rode the team bus from Syracuse to a game in Pittsburgh in 2002 and was molested by Fine in the team hotel when he was just 13 years old. But the Daily News checked the schedule for that season and discovered the team did not take a bus to Pittsburgh, but instead flew to Pittsburgh after a road game in Tennessee.

Nothing to see here. Move on, never mention again... standard media tactic.

He was just so traumatized that he couldn't remember.....

it would seem to me to be quite a rather long bus ride in the dead of winter. does the team really take the bus on any trips beyond albany and buffalo?

Years ago they may have taken the bus to Pittsburgh. In 2002 though, I don't think so.

did he mean he rode the bus from the hotel to the arena???? what did he actually say??? I was under the impression he was talking about riding the team bus to and from the arena? can we get an exact quote???

The speculation was the Feds were able to get the search warrant because Fine took Tomaselli across state lines. Nice to know they didn't bother to check an easily verifiable portion of his story before running off to a judge for the warrant.

I'm sure they took a bus from the hotel to the arena. That could be what he's referring to.

Perhaps. But still there is the little problem of getting to Pittsburgh in the first place. He never mentioned that he was in Tennessee with the team and was traveling with them from there.

Do they bus into MSG/NYC ? I remember seeing an SU hoops players Facebook posting from sonewhere on thruway near Croton on the Hudson.

you guys wondering if he was talking about taking a bus from the hotel to the arena, the sworn statement said from Syracuse. Lawyers will tear this apart.

Is the sworn statement on line? Haven't read it.

I am not nearly as connected as many of you and could be completely wrong but I am really starting to get the feeling that this whole situation amounts to a complex, sordid and perhaps criminal relationship between Davis and the Fines that has been blown up by some falsehoods. I heard this Tomaselli guys answer to a question about his own alleged molestation on Anderson Cooper that told me all I need to know about him. To paraphrase "I'm not saying I did anything but I put myself into that situation because I did not know what the proper boundaries were". Yeah, right. What a contrivance that is. At some point I really do hope the truth of this mess begins to emerge because I see a lot of people who I don't believe are honest.

Have no idea, but that's what's stated in the article. For now, I'll have to believe that.

That's pretty normal for victims of child abuse. If he was molested, and he probably was molested by someone, then that makes sense.

I don't know about the team, but the traveling party will sometimes cab it back and forth to NYC.

For this in the chat room last night, I wonder if this would have qualified as "breaking news" last night?

I know, and this is true but this cant be the defense for every wacked out accuser who may come out of the woodwork. Tomaselli seems messed up, no doubt and maybe it was from abuse when he was a kid, but were entering an area where we cannot question anything about the accuser because it can all be explained away by "well molested people may act that way" and then in a crazy way it turns into even more of an indictment on those they accuse. Tomaselli and Lang's stories are flimsy at best. If this is true in the NYDN then I am really scared for our law enforcement where a claim by someone being prosecuted for a crime, whos father calls him a liar and in 2 short days has his story disproved by a newspaper is basis for a federal search warrant.

Ummm ... I just read his statement from another thread. According to his statement he never said that he traveled with the team. He said that it was arranged that he would travel on a chartered bus with SU Athletic staff from Syracuse. easy enough to verify

So the team flies but the athletic staff would take a bus? Is that normal?

...as importantly, the SYSTEM, whatever that is: legal, moral, foundations; for abused whatever, seems to provide significant lattitude in many things that others are not afforded:
1. Time to come forward--want to shut out the memories
2. Unable to remember facts because of being traumatized
3. Unconditionally accepted as truth regardless of how suspect the accusations maybe

This is not to say, accusers are not mentally or physically injured...they are. It is to point out that we have a very difficult task to assess what really happened and when in these cases. Children and women and some will say men need protection and action on accusations...but whatever happened to bringing false accusations and ruining someone's life. This is a tightrope that is not easily walked.

I don't know. But it would seem plausible depending on who is included in SU Athletic staff ... obviously the team and the coaches would have flown from Tennesee to Pitt. Possibly "other" Athletic Staff (whoever that might be) might have a charter to Pitt fo the game? Still very easy to verify.

And it's possible that not everyone on the staff from the AD would have flown to Knoxville but would have bussed the 6 hours to Pittsburgh.
