So what do we make of our last 4 games?

I wonder if Lamar Jackson returns for his senior year
ACC Football: Three Takeaways From Week Nine

3) Florida State and Louisville solidified themselves as two of the biggest disappointments in college football

The unit has clearly held the team back from being one of the nation’s 15-20 best teams in 2017, as the Cardinals offense continues to be carried by reigning Heisman winner Lamar Jackson in spite of horrific play on the other side of the football. Louisville leads the ACC in total offense behind Jackson’s magnificent play, yet sits at 5-4 overall on the season with a 2-4 record in conference play following Saturday’s loss to Wake Forest.

Louisville should still be able to squeak out a bowl game, but considering the team that many expected the Cardinals to have entering the season, 2017 should be labeled as nothing less than a disappointment.

I’m thinking we go 2-2 or 3-1. If we get out on the Noles early, I think they fold. They still scare me though. I don’t see us beating Louisville on the road. I see Lamar carving up SU’s defense. On the positive side I see us winning both home games. That’ll put the final record at 6-6 or 7-5. I predicted a 5-7 season with the potential for 7 wins. I want to go bowling sooner and then again later.

These last 4 games are unpredictable. We can win all four, or lose all four. I don’t feel real good about any of them to be quite honest. We seem to allow huge , no-time-off-the-clock scores, then “almost” come back only to fall short. Hoping for 4-0, 2-2 no complaints. MTSU game still hurts.

I absolutely love this team. I think we really match up well with the remaining 4. I'm going to say we run the table, or very worst go 3-1. We are just too good not too. You really have to take advantage of FSU and to a lesser extent Louisville while they are having a down season like this. I think the 1st quarter vs FSU is huge. If we get on them early they may pack it in (unless they already have, which is a very good possibility). I do feel less confident about going 4-0 now that we found out both Cordy and Martin are now done for the season. We really needed 1 of those guys to finish the season. imo it's a pretty big drop off from Cordy/Martin to Jones. I'm excited to see Coleman and Robinson coming off the edge. Coleman was really coming into his own before getting injured. Hopefully he still has that burst that he was showing

Offensively, I would like to see more of Nykiem Johnson. I'd even like to see what he can do returning punts. Hell, i'd even like to see what Erv could do as punt returner.

Anyways, we are fully capable of winning out. It would be a huge disappointment if we only get 2, let alone less than that.

They also have the worst D of any of the remaining teams...

Opportunity is knocking.

We can either open the door, let Opportnity in, and show Opportunity a good time.

Or we can vomit on our shoes.

We’ve pretty much done the latter consistently for 15 years. It’s time to do the former.

^^^ Totally respect the bullish feel for Cuse, they have shown allot. That said if they pull out 2 wins the rest of the season that is in no way a failure...to the contrary that is a success given the path they took too get the 6 wins. Let's not let perfection get in the way of good this season. If they get 6 wins, including Clemson and go bowling then that is a good outcome that shows year over year improvement. Again running the gambit would certainly be exciting but if they don't and go 2/4...that's ok in my book in year 2 of the makeover...Go Cuse!

I really don’t trust this FSU thing. Maybe it’s because, to my knowledge, we’ve never beaten them and it’s usually not even close. I’m just worried they’re going to play like the team they were expected to be. I will be absolutely thrilled if we beat them on the road, don’t care what their record is.

I still remember the 2004 game, so don't tell me we can't do it.

the way the Giants block he might be able to save them, its not like Eli plays at an elite level most of the game anyway

If there is an NFL QB that has gotten less help from both his pass protection and running game in the last five years, I’d love to hear who it is.

Respect the opinion, but I have to disagree. There won’t be many seasons where FSU and Louisville will be this down (we’ll maybe Lville), let alone in the same season. These are the years you have to capitalize on it otherwise they will never beat them. Don’t get me wrong I won’t say the season is a disappointment if we get to 6 wins and a bowl, but I real think we need to adjust our expectations based on what is actually playing out. We aren’t some chump team anymore. We have a very good team, that is better than a 6 win club. You have to beat WF and BC st home, and you have to capitalize on FSU and Louisville being very down. As I said, I would be a bit disappointed if we didn’t protect home field and then beat at least 1 of FSU or Lville

I know, but I can see Jackson getting to the edge and breaking contain whenever he wants against SU. The D is better, but Lamar can overcome it. The question is whether we can out score them.

Yep. Shootouts tend to favor the best QB.

But things can get crazy in these types of games. Should be a fun one.

WR he will never make it as a qb he has poor accuracy
Agreed. The comparisons to Vick stop after arm strength and running ability.

So which one are you saying is the best QB?

Also, it’s crazy how ridiculous NFL fans are with QB’s. Got some buddies that are Bills fans that were ragging on Eli the other day, lol. Safe to say if the Bills had Eli as their starting QB since midway through 2004, they’d have at least a few playoff appearances in there.

How do fans of a team that has started Rob Johnson, JP Losman, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kyle Orton, EJ Manuel, and Tyrod Taylor and that basically have immortalized a little midget who had one fluky good season 20 years ago...how are they gonna rag on Eli? Nuts.
