So what's the Expectation??

I would love to hear what your thoughts are on how many wins this program should average per year?

Il hang up and listen.
7-5 imo. We should be able to go 3-1 every year in our OOC and go 4-4 in conference. If we go 7-6 that’s fine since it came with a bowl at least. 6-6 is the absolute floor imo.

6 wins minimum. The foundation is there to be a consistent bowl team but the offensive line has to be addressed. Recruiting in the south, especially Florida, is picking up so talent is being upgraded. As everyone knows, I love Dino and believe he's a great coach. He can do it.

I mean if we just get another year of Trish and hit on ONE WR recruit last couple classes with another good OL I think things are different.

Last year could have been 7-5 and not 5-7. We won 10 the year before.

Every year they should compete for a bowl game 6 or 7 wins with a 9 or 10 win season in the mix as well as a losing season.

7 wins a year consistently would be great, with 4 being the floor once in a great while, and a 10 win season once every 6 years.
Being underdogs to Liberty would put us somewhere under the foundation of the basement.

You have to strive for an average of 4 ACC wins and 3 OOC wins (have to schedule for that part too).

So 7 should be the average, if we're really trying to make this work.

Some years will be like 2019, some years will be like 2018. But it doesn't have to be a yo-yo.

In a normal year, playing what should be our typical schedule, I expect us to go, at minimum, 3-1 in OOC games and 4-4 in conference games. So 7-5.

This is obviously not a normal year, nor a normal schedule. We couldn’t have picked a worse time to change both coordinators, and have had an unbelievable run of injuries. I am inclined to give Dino, the rest of the staff and the players a pass for this year.

Baseline of 6 wins. Losing seasons happen. In years 4 and 5 we should be on our way to becoming consistently competitive, not the opposite

This years different because of scheduling, I get. Duke was awful though

Most years the 3 non P5 games should be wins. There will be exceptions once in awhile but they should be rare. Most years Clemson should be a loss. So that gets you to 3-1. The other 8 games we should be able to go 3-1 at home and 1-3 on the road. So 7-5 should be the typical year. In a bad year we should still be able to pull off 2-2 at home and go 5-7 overall. Outside of our QB getting hurt there is no real excuse for less than 5 wins in a non Covid season.

Last year's squad was easily our worst team since GRob and we still went 5-7.

On the high end 8-4 should happen when we have a senior heavy team. Anything more than that will be rare. IMO a typical 4 year run should be 5-7, 6-6, 7-5, 8-4.

Further deep. We going deep sea oil exploring with these depths

7 should be the average as many have said here.

consistently lower than that is unacceptable.

Making a bowl game, they'll be the occasional miss and we should be able to hit 7-8 here and there, hit a 9 win regular season once in a blue moon, a normal year we should win all out OOC, winning a couple ACC games each season shouldn't be a tall task, dino said all the right things but it's time we start doing them, be .500 and be an exciting team with a good offense.

I would say we should average 7.5, the highest number of which would be 8 win seasons, followed by a fair number of 7 win seasons, some 6 win years, and the occasional 10 win year.

Here’s the bottom line you can’t win until you win ... get it ? In 2018 we got the 10 wins we had the promo video we had RBs , Tristian Jackson a confident tommy , rankings , respect , fans , an inch away from being back and we couldn’t do the 2 most important things in football block and tackle .
This year it’s the same minus key players any win would be a small miracle besides liberty who physically shouldn’t match up even to out back ups . Moving to next year we must first hope we keep current players , 2-3 O line man and WRs and a LB . Now the real ? Is with this whole free year what will the number of players allowed on a roster be ? Will we have to many ? Then we can’t get transfers ? Or do we have players not come back giving us roster spots ?

We should be solid on the oline next year. Rb as well. Not sure about the WRs or DL.
My question is if Cav is the guy.

We have to hope everyone on the dline wants to return. Do we see enough size on the roster to replace them, if they don't? WR is a concern because it'll be all the same guys plus the new freshman. Regardless of talent, I'm wondering if the word on any new guys will be that they can't get on the field because they have to learn the reads to be on the same page as the QB.

I really hope the oline gets fixed so we can have a run game that defenses have to respect.
