So what's the Expectation??

We have to hope everyone on the dline wants to return. Do we see enough size on the roster to replace them, if they don't? WR is a concern because it'll be all the same guys plus the new freshman. Regardless of talent, I'm wondering if the word on any new guys will be that they can't get on the field because they have to learn the reads to be on the same page as the QB.

I really hope the oline gets fixed so we can have a run game that defenses have to respect.
I have zero confidence in that. He have had a bad offensive line for so long. The system needs to be looked at.

We should expect a bowl game every year. And that we have has many 9-10 win seasons as 2-5 win seasons.

I would love to hear what your thoughts are on how many wins this program should average per year?

Il hang up and listen.

Here's mine...

I'd be fine with a program, in this conference,
- That is, on average, a 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 program...if we are there 80% of years I would be fine.
- Completely get we will have the lousy below .500 season once every 5 years or so,
- But similarly have that 10+ win season every 5-6 years or so
- I'd like the finish at least once every 3-4 years in the top 25.
- I'd like to have a shot at a conference title every decade or so

Basically, I would take the Pasqualoni record now even though when he was doing the above it was usually with talent that could have and should have won MUCH more. That was the Big East then. This is the ACC now. I think these targets are absolutely realistic. And yet near universally missed by the coaches we bring.

Bowl game each year with a shot at a conference title every three to five years and once a decade I at least want to be a dark horse playoff candidate.

Maybe we can't get back there, but I still am holding out hope.

Problem is that we have been bad or mediocre for SO long, that I'm not sure what it would even take now to be consistently good. We've basically gone a generation since the Freeney team that was 10-3 with our losses being GT, Tenn and Miami. I know we won 10 a few years ago, but that is more and more an aberration.

Our recruiting has to level up by 8-10 spots in the rankings immediately for a few years to get there. I like our coaches, I like our AD, I like the Dome and I like a lot of our players now and am excited for a handful of the guys coming in.

But we are still digging out from a lot of negative stuff on top of the pre-existing challenges Cuse already has that have been stated over and over.

I'm just glad we got into the ACC. I can't even imagine if we didn't get the invite what would have happened to football here.

I'd take P winning even less with all the talent he assembled vs now record wise.

I’m 33 years old. My peak fandom has seen Grob, Doug, Shafer, and Dino.

I want a competitive team, consistent bowls, and not dreading watching a game on Saturday. But too much to ask.

In my view, the ACC invite absolutely saved Syracuse football. If not for such incredibly good fortune, one doesn't have to put too much thought into what would've happened, as it's quite obvious we'd have the same/similar plight UConn football has had. Some here may not want to believe that, but IMO there's no doubt whatsoever. SU's history and occasional success had very little bearing in the invite (see Rutgers who has had practically zero historical success) but rather 99% driven by the perceived TV market/ratings/revenue potential SU may bring in.

And, for those who believe had the ACC not extend we then would've been saved by the B1G, perhaps, but it wasn't absolute in any way that they were coming to SU's rescue either. Not to mention, a fish out of water in a predominant (sans Northwestern) sea of land grant/large state institutions. Although, at least SU football would've still been breathing.

That said, IMO, all fans of Syracuse football should be eternally grateful to the ACC. And, for such grace, SU owes it to the league to not be a complete and utter embarrassment on the field. So, at a minimum, SU should be in the solid position of going bowling annually, which, with all the bowls currently out there, is not that high of a bar to attain.

Man, I feel bad for you. I got to experience the '90's as a teenager and college student. I'm waiting/hoping for those days to return.

Speaking of P-5 teams generally, every single one of those programs should expect 6-6 as a baseline assuming they can 1) schedule intelligently and 2) play competent football.

Speaking of Syracuse specifically, that feels to me like a realistic baseline, although because of the Dome, how we get there matters too - we should be able to leverage the Dome into having exciting offensive teams that are usually fun to watch. Not all 6-6 records are created equal.

And just to hedge this off, you can take your Bill Parcels quote and store it in your butt.

We should consistently have 7-8 wins, depending on OOC.

We’ll absolutely have some 4-5 win seasons, but it would be great to have some 9-10 win seasons as well.

We should go 4-0/3-1 OOC; and there’s no reason why we can’t go ~3-5/4-4 in conference, even with Clemson and FSU being 2 probable losses most years.

I think in the end it should average out to 7 with some spikes of 8-10 win seasons sprinkled in with a stinker at 5 wins.
Bowl games every year with a few challenges for conference champs is my dream.

We need to start scheduling OOC cupcakes, get 2 G5 games and 2 trash ones, the colgates holy cross, maines, theirs 4 wins and we've never had a winless ACC season, DB's won atleast 2 everytime, by doing this we'd practically guarentee a bowl every year, build some momentum then schedule the real ones, make a few bowls in a row, G5 teams even the worst ones have some name value so attendance won't suck. We could get some easy 8-9 win seasons, should be how we schedule for the next 5 years minimum

You can post youtube videos (just copy and paste the link) and the site will automatically embed.

Other vid platforms I'm not sure about. If a link doesn't work, then we're not compatible.

Here are some of the choices:

Our recruiting is at or near the bottom of the league every single season so, say 1-2 ACC wins + whatever OOC wins we can schedule.
