the one thats pretty solid at 42nd for 131 a game

the one thats imploded 3 times for 198 yds

or the one that if you make those 3 plays the same as the the other 128 carries makes us 83 yds a game and 5th in the country.

it shows what happens when safeties take bad angles. and clemsons RBs will house it and not get caught like ours do.

But i think if we hold clemson to 255/130 our season avg I will take our chances we are in the game.

I don't think 3 long plays defines us. It's not a good look, but even good defenses will let a big play happen now and then.

I like your analysis but this game is a steep challenge and step up in skill and offense compared with what we have faced the first 4 weeks. That includes FSU. They were a hot mess and light years from what we will see in offensive function this Saturday.

That's true, but one or two plays like that gives a team with already superior talent a 7-14 point edge. Can we eliminate those one or two this week to make them earn all of their points?

Don't have much to see from his college games but here is Lawrence at Cartersville HS, GA
Cartersville plays in 4A. Football in GA goes up to 6A.

Those 3 runs were done by guys with track team speed. Very unusual for a QB or an RB to have 4.4 speed. I don't think they see anyone else in those positions with those kinds of wheels for the rest of the season.

You will at noon on Saturday.

I think those long runs are due to young safeties, and inexperienced LB's. That's what we have, and if they play great, and give up the occasional long run, I'm cool with it.

None of their running backs runs 4.4 and their QB sure doesn't.

Speedy running back with career 7.0 yards per carry average set program benchmark with 4.32 40-yard dash

KALAMAZOO - For LeVante Bellamy, speed came out of necessity.

"When I was young, my brother was always really fast," he said. "When I was in second grade, I always went against fifth and sixth graders. I would be outside playing, and it would always be me and them because of how old my brother was.

"Being so young and having to run away from 12-, 13-year-olds at 8 or 9, I think that's what made me begin to run fast."

Bellamy is arguably one of the fastest players in college football and certainly the fastest running back Western Michigan has ever had. 4.32

I think our offensive system is great but the fact of the matter is our D has to play a lot of series and big/broken plays are more likely to happen in a game since there are more chances for them to occur. Its OK. Especially when they occur with a big lead.

So far I'm happy that an average run play when there is no hole isn't going for 6-7 yards. Thats been a consistent part of our struggles over the last 2 decades.

Kid was the stuff of legends down here ... people would come from Alabama and Tennessee to watch him play ... and I don't mean coaches I mean just average joe football fans ... he broke at least two of Deshaun Watson's records and we all know how good he was/is.

I’m laughing so hard

Guy says Clemson doesn’t have speed like the other guys we’ve played but there are literally articles and videos AGAINST OUR TEAM showing how fast etienne is

This board sometimes, man

WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE
I'm trying to stand up for our defense. Is there something wrong with being a Syracuse partisan on this site?

OK. My point was we gave up 3 long TD's to guys with world class speed. Of course, you could see how fast Bellamy was, and he didn't slow down at all until he got to the end zone. And I think Bellamy is faster than Etienne.

I dont know about short distance but in the 100m Etienne is faster based on track results. Bellamy had a personal best of 10.88. Etienne had a personal best of 10.28. They both could have gotten faster or slower since then but thats the only numbers I could find.

That's sounds reasonable. Like I said, I was defending our defense for giving up big runs by saying we hadn't seen anyone with that kind of speed, especially in opening game action. All I can say is when Bellamy got clear, he was gone. It passed the eye test of real elite speed with the pads on. The QB from UCONN, Pindell, runs a legit 4.4 in pads too. I'm sure because of this, our D will be aware of Etienne and Teaster getting free up the middle.
