*As good as we were, Seton Hall sucked ass. There were literally 5-6 passes that were so bad, that I couldn't beleive D-1 players were making them. They really tried to force the ball into the FT line, even when we had the area covered. Just awful decision making by Seton Hall. 15 first half turnovers on bad play after bad play.
*We really should have been up by 30 in the first half. Tons of missed layups and just sloppy play early on. It didn't hurt us tonight, but against a good team, we'd be behind at half. The Hall was that terrible.
*I cannot for the life of me beleive that the guy who's wearing #51 this year, is the same guy who wore #51 last year. Forget the conditioning angle that's been beaten to death...its the instinctive plays that stun me. Last year, there wasn't a more clueless player in D-1. This year, he's doing things that players who've played the game for years make. The improvement is undescribable. Loved the post up move, ball on the deck move left and then dish to Fair. Yeah, we really miss Bernie's coaching.
*Win by 30 and your leading scorer doesn't score and we shot like from outside. Wow.
* Love the hustle play by MCW in the second half to get the steal, get on the deck, find Dion...who then unselfishly gives the ball to JaySouth for the slam. Not sure Dion makes that play last year.
*Speaking of Dion. Dude covered all kinds of ground on the defensive end tonight. Another stellar performance out of him. That dunk was manly.
*I understand that officials want to give a team that's getting pulverized an occassional break...and I'm not looking to beat anyone by 50...but there were a couple of calls that were so blantently bad, that they were dangerous. You can't let a player grab and maul a dribbler and not call it, becasue eventually the offensive player is going to get pissed and start swinging elbows and other body parts to protect himself. I thought the officials were dangerously close to losing control of this game.
*Still very concerned about the defensive glass. SHall was small, and not a good rebounding team. When we have CJ and KJo at the forward positions, we get outmuscled. Very concerning against bigger teams.
Hard to find fault with the overall performance tonight, but there are things that better teams will expose against us. Gotta keep getting poins off of defense because I still think we have some offensive issues in the half court.
