Run defense
Since 262 allowed vs Ohio, it’s been 112, 173, 9, 127. UNLV is 8th in the country in rushing. It’s been getting better as the season has progressed.

Pass defense, - consistent three games under 200, high of 266. Solid

Scoring defense - first four under 30 pts. UNLV’s 41 include 7 on the blocked punt and starting with the ball on the 25 in ot for a FG.

Total defense, since Ohio every game under 380.

Defense has not been dominant, but it’s been good enough to win every game. They haven’t had a bad game.

Offense - 4 games 480 or more. Outlier is Stanford with 365

Passing - range of 339 to 416

Rushing - again other than Stanford, consistent, 126, 134, 26, 125, 137. Not great, but with the passing offense enough to be effective overall

total very consistent other than Stanford , 480, 515, 365, 541, 492.

scoring 4 of 5 games 31 or more, 24 against Stanford.

This is good for the first five games in a staff‘s tenure. Also, there is upside.

Re: Stanford -- it was the only game where we didn't move the sticks as we've done in the other games. Shows in the total yardage

Great breakdown! Love this. Adds some very nice perspective.

They weren't ready. Hangover after the GT game. Still probably win without that pick six.

I expect a better start vs NC State. They are battered and hurt. Break them early.
Wasn't it also the first game without Haynes? Isn't he our best deep threat? The offense looked different against UNLV. It may the rest of the year if Haynes is done.

dont throw the pick 6 and we were moving and we get ahead and who knows how it plays out.

My biggest takeaway is they are no where near our ceiling. Will they continue to build and most importantly stay relatively healthy (Maybe get guys back). Wins like Friday showed toughness and can really be a launching point. Saturday will be key vs a team that is beat up. Get up early and break them.

As a fan i can’t help to think “What if”. Does that Stanford L come back to haunt us. IF we had won we would probably be inside the top 15 with some winnable, but all a sudden tough games ahead, with opportunists for big wins.

UNLV also included the botched Punt where UNLV got it at the 10 yard line. That resulted in a TD as well. Botched and blocked = 2 TD's.

Sorry I meant we missed 3 vs Stanford. Meaning that would’ve put us at 33pts.
The key plays there were the pick 6 and then our pick which put us at the Stanford 20 and we only managed a FG. Our offense was really inconsistent that whole game, almost from drive to drive.
