Somebody please tell me why college football doesn't have

An early signing season like hoops? Seriously, it would make it so much nicer for the kids lives if they choose to go that route.

Many of the big schools don't want it, probably so they can grab guys from smaller schools. To me, it's a no-brainer to have one.
