Something important that I forgot in my post about my weekend in Syracuse:
Chancellor-designate Kent Syverud and his wife Ruth Chen were at the game, very enthusiastically supporting the team and chatting with everyone who wanted to talk with him. Each time I meet him, I am more and more impressed. He and Ruth were there without a retinue (in sharp contrast to his predecessor), had seats that were not particularly special, and just wanted to take in the atmosphere and meet as many folks as possible. Each time I meet him, I am more and more impressed. He officially takes office this Monday. If you see him around campus, say hello. I suspect he would love to meet you.
