Something I forgot...

I wanted to google retinue, but I didn't know what google meant. Welcome to Syracuse, Chancellor Syverud!!

Welcome Chancellor Syverud!

Syverud is a Norwegian name. Most members of the Syverud family live in or near Minnesota. I would said the probability that his family is related the the family of Eric Sevareid, another guy from the Midwest with Norwegian roots, is extremely high.

Being a former Eagle Scout, I bet he values survival skills, so look for him to spend quality time with CuseTroop and JarHeadJim when he stops by the next big Syracusefan.com tailgate.

:( Is it bad that I had to Google what the word retinue meant? Based on that and that alone I am guessing that Chancellor Syverud would probably not want to meet me.
I didn't know it, but from the context assumed it meant "entourage."

This thread is great. My takeaways:

We have a new chancellor.
He likes to meet people.
People with skills.
Retinue is not a misspelling of the word "revenue"
The chancellor is also Norwegian.

Wait till I show our Norwegian Chancellor my mead drinking skills! He'd love to meet me!
