Against FSU last season SU had 5 drives that went 3 plays or less, this season it was 3
Against FSU last season SU had a long drive of 66 yards, this season it was 76
Against FSU last season SU had only 2 drives longer than 31 yards, this season SU had 6
Against FSU last season SU allowed 8 scoring drives that averaged about 5 plays per drive, this season it was 6 scoring drives that averaged about 8 plays per drive
Against FSU last season SU scored one FG on a 20 play drive, this season SU had 4 scores that came on drives with a total of 29 plays
Against FSU last season SU had 6 drives that had single digit yard totals including 2 drives for minus yards, this season it was 4 and all were for positive yards sans the drive of 0 on Long's INT.

Its amazing even after a loss how different this game was than last year.

I am excited too. To be fair this FSU defense is nowhere near as good as last year.

Let's remember that this was a home game as well. That makes a lot of difference. And we all think FSU isn't as good this year as last year. STILL.... this was a game that I thought was going to be a debacle and it was NOT. Thanks for the comparison!

Agreed no doubt. It just shows how much we are closing the gaps. We left a couple TDs on the field and dropped a couple INTs to boot. Its such a different feel.

another stat. Last year FSU didn't have a 3rd down on offense till late in the 3rd quarter. This year was a totally different story.

yes the SU defense struggled yesterday but not nearly as bad as it did last year
