Pitt has had a grand total of 2 guys leave early. Blair and the kid from Australia. We have had that many leave in one year. So, they keep their guys and they are physically mature. That is good enough to win some games but not go very far in the NCAA. Yeah, they beat us with that formula, but just 3 years ago, we went to the final four. They have never gone that far.

Yeah, it's like the worst of both worlds for us; we don't get the elite one-n-dones, but our Top 50 guys still go... I still am bitter that KU has Wayne Selden on their current roster, and we got Ennis for one year...
But, maybe it's our own doing; we play our guys all game long, which means more stats and more exposure on tv...

8-2 vs UConn. What is out last 15 against West virginia? What is Pitt's? You can do that all day.

I'm 8-2 in my rec league.

Point is you're talking about pittsburgh. At the end of the day, 6-14.

And .

Edit- you conn

I'd rather talk about the amount of time that Dixon spends illegally on the court and no refs have the cojones to T him up for it. There was one time yesterday that one of the refs was in the front court and turned sideways when he saw Dixon out of the corner of his eye and was ready to say or do something but the play was in front of him.

It had appeared that he or the other black ref (is that ok to say politically) had warned him previously which did no good. Maybe someone sitting closer behind the Pitt bench could speak on that.

If the NCAA and NBA would ever go back to the days when they made kids stay 3 years or believe they could declare for the pro's out of HS, it would make college b-ball and the NBA so much better. I really enjoyed it back then. You really think Jordan and Barkley would have stayed 3 years if they were in the same situation as now, but while they were in college it was a lot more entertaining. Same can be said with a lot of players at SU too who could have left early, DC for one comes to my mind.

That is all well and good, but if you keep trying something and it doesn't work maybe you should try something different. That doesn't mean change your approach to the season, but maybe change your approach to this opponent rather than just continuing to allow them to eat your lunch year in and year out. Obviously Dixon's style matches up well against JB's...so rather than just continuing to trot out the same losing formula, make an adjustment. I would expect just based on JB's personality it would drive him crazy that Dixon owns him with relatively mediocre talent in comparison.

The point is that our record with Pitt is a combination of factors. We have great kids leave early. They don't. We beat other teams that they don't. Just one of those things. I will tell you what, you take dixon and his 14-6 against jb and I will take JB. At least we might make a final four. Dixon hasn't and with his style and the talent he brings in, he probably won't.

I don't disagree with one word of that. trying something new might not be possible with this bunch. No depth and no numbers. Your point is valid but might not be possible with this team.

It's awful tough to be a bubble team or win your league if you have two losses baked into your schedule annually.

Well, I'm not conceding next years games to them. we will have a legit center that can block shots and get a rebound or two. We won't have to play a 3/4 at the 5.

I'd make that 3 losses, because JB's record against Pitino at Louisville is very similar. I think he is 5-10 against Rick since he took over at Louisville. Again, I attribute this not to Rick being smarter than JB, but to the style that Rick is able to employ with the talent he recruits at Louisivlle not being a good matchup for us and the style we play. When someone has the upperhand you can either make an adjustment to try to regain the upperhand, or continue to try to run uphill.

LOL well then make that 4 as we play the Ville twice next year.

Pretty sure we lost 7 in a row to Louisville at one point from 07-11. When we won the big east in 2010 we were 0-3 against Pitt and Louisville. So apparently you can lose all your games to UL and Pitt and still win the leagueif you beat everyone else.

Remember JBs presser after we beat WVU in 2011 when JB ripped Donna Ditota for writing an article how bad JB's record is against Dixon and Pitino? Good thing she didn't go there yesterday, we may of had a repeat.

Our recent history against Louisville is much better, we are 4-3 in the last 7 even with the loss the other day.

They should put a tracking device in their suits connected to the clock. If they leave the coaching box while the clock is running, it immediately stops the clock and is a technical.

They can track the puck in hockey. They can track a soccer ball like that. We have the technology. We can track a friggin' college coach.

Maybe put it around the ankle? And hey, a gentle little electric shock just to let them know they are on the court too?:)

We may be the only fan base that complains about the coach being out of the box. We find anything to complain about or an excuse to make.

If we just got on the court and played solid basketball none of this garbage would even come up.

Like a dog collar. Except they don't call them shock collars anymore. It's a static vibration. Just turn it up all the way. Would love to see Dixon flopping like a piece of bacon.

Right because we never do that despite being one of the most successful teams in the history of college basketball.

We beat Buzz a good amount, but it still drives me nuts he is on the court. If I was a player I would run them over.
