1) The report about JB telling the team in preseason that it was good enough to win a NC. I have never seen it reported that JB has done that before.
2) Last night, JB talking about our rebounding not being good enough to win a championship. I never recall him ever talking about winning a championsip, particularly in the regular season. Hell, we haven't even won the BE yet.

This leads me to hypothesize as follows:
1) Only talk of a NC motivates these guys, or
2) JB beleives this is his last real chance, talent wise, to get a 2nd NC, or
3) JB knows this is his last chance, time wise, to get a 2nd NC, or
4) I'm a dope.

I think JB know's he has a hell of a shot THIS year. I don't think he even know's when he's retiring. I also think he coaches next year and they will have a great shot next year (depending on who stays, goes and who might be coming in).

Scratch 2 and 4

He absolutely thinks he has a chance this year. But if we get Nerlens Noel, to go along with Coleman, and add Cooney, Triche's senior year and more MCW, and an improved Christmas/Fair/Southerland, I think we can be right back close to this caliber next season.

If all of those things happen, we might have a better chance next year.

if we get Noel too, what is the starting front court? fab @ #5 spot, coleman #4 spot?, Noel #3? or fair or southerland?

There's another scenario: JB knows this team can win a NC regardless of whether this is his last chance.

I loved JB's comments last night.

According to many Fab won't be coming back. I don't think he is ready to play with the real talent in the pros just yet. If he does itt might be fantastic for jimmy and the team not to mention us "the great unwashed". AKA "fans" I would see Fab DC Fair and Triche as the starters . MCW and Southerland or Grant off the bench quickly Add Cooney to that list and we will be another great team for the polls to put high on the list . It might be even better if Noel comes in . We would have to be the odds on favorite to go all the way FF and winner after that.

I think it is all about the fact that this team has one goal a national championship and the players and coaches are focused on that goal
