sorry richmond, this is the biggest upset ever in the

I wasnt born when Cuse lost to richmond. But for a cuse fan how bad was it. I just know it sucked when we lost to vermont.

Remember how you felt yesterday. It was exactly the same, except SU didn't pull it out.

In Greensboro, no less.

Which was interesting - a lot of empty seats and it didn't seem like there was a large contingent of Duke fans there.

In any other arena, the crowd would be going apeshit.

I am sorry Duke and Missouri lost. I am all for rooting for the Overdog. Everyone loves the upset, but Overdogs are rated high for a reason. Their entire season earned that seed. Yes, CBS, it's a lot of fun when David slays Goliath, but look at the crap game you'll get for the championship. They don't care, though. I think the highest rankings are for the first week-end, are they not? So, slay away!

The casual fan watches this weekend, especially today and yesterday.

By the time you get to the finals, not even all the diehards are watching anymore.

I watch way to much bball between November and March, and If SU ain't in the final, it's only 50-50 that I'm watching the whole thing.

You won't get a crap game for the championship because these underdogs never win it all - a big boy will still be standing at the end of the tournament. Love the Duke loss!!!

Not even in the same world as yesterday... you won't hear about yesterday for the next fifteen years. When SU lost to Richmond it was the FIRST time a 2 seed had ever lost... EVER... it was awful for SU and for us fans... and it came up every year. It was just so bad.

Wonder if Coach K will be criticized for the next 20 yrs?

Ours was big because it was historic. Just like if we'd have lost yesterday, it would've ALWAYS been significant.
15-2 upsets are still rare, but for all those that have happened, Duke's would clearly be No. 1.

The Lehigh game and the Ohio game - those teams weren't just scrapping to try to stay in the game and then hit a crazy buzzer beater. They were flat out better. They won those games heads up, toe to toe with the higher seed. Ohio looked incredible. This somehow makes me feel a little better about our game yesterday.

I think we had a better team than Duke..26-4 ranked 6th in the country..a young Autry..David Johnson..Billy Owens...LeRon Ellis..Conrad McRae...and Mike, the floor sweeper, Hopkins.

I have 4 other ones that hurt as much and about 6 that run a close second.

1. WKU 78
2. Penn 79
3. UNCC 77
4. Navy 85

85 is somewhat comparable to tonites Duke debacle as it was at the Dome.

I think it was worse because it was the first time it ever happened.

I'm sure Duke fans will get over this faster than we did. We had no championships to look back upon; and with Owens leaving, the stars of the era were gone.

Duke fans know that pretty much every year they will be a one or two seed in the tournament.

Not me. After we lose and I stop quivering (may take a few days) I usually get back to watching. I especially watch the Final Four. One year I didn't watch the championship game - it may have been one of the years we went to the NIT - I think it had Memphis in it and was supposed to be the best championship game ever (?). But that's b.s. because we all know which one was the best. Ever.

Plus, the fact that Duke will be right back with a Top 2 seed in Greensboro (or whichever North Carolina first round site) next year is a safer bet than T-Bills.

I still cannot utter the name Michael Edwards without wanting to kick him in the nuts for that game. Billy Owens took over down the stretch and brought us to the brink of pulling it out. He was the hot hand. On the last possession Edwards missed a wide open Billy. Never looked at him. He forced a crap shot. Richmond rebound. Game over.

My recollection of this game was that we were behind almost all of it and then nearly caught up...then panicked and started jacking up threes even though we were only down a few points...i also recall that is the way we lost the minnesota game in 1990 with tony scott sticking the dagger into our chests and walter bond (or was it coffee) scored on a drive in which he did not dribble the ball from the half court line to the basket

Does the Duke loss really take the top spot? Is it because it was Duke? Or because it took place in N. Carolina? It seems to me that Missouri is better than Duke this year and Lehigh is better than Norfolk St. I have trouble calling the Duke game the biggest upset ever when it was 2nd biggest of the day.

Vermont was awful, but it was nothing compared to Richmond.

Mizzou wasn't playing a home game. Mizzou isn't Duke.
