Can you imagine being a Duke fan creeping out of the game while being heckled by the NC fans? :rolling:

Not even in the same world as yesterday... you won't hear about yesterday for the next fifteen years. When SU lost to Richmond it was the FIRST time a 2 seed had ever lost... EVER... it was awful for SU and for us fans... and it came up every year. It was just so bad.

On top of that, parity was nowhere near what it is today, with more of the top talent around (Owens was a Junior...) . Plus the 3-pt shot had only been around for 4 years at that point, so it wasn't as integral to the point that each team has 5-6 guys who will shoot a few during the game. Now, the players grew up with the line and can all shoot -- if an underdog can get hot from 3 for a minute they suddenly hang with anybody. The strange thing with that Duke-Lehigh game is uniforms aside, it didn't even feel like that big of an upset.

Plus, the fact that Duke will be right back with a Top 2 seed in Greensboro (or whichever North Carolina first round site) next year is a safer bet than T-Bills.

I think we had a better team than Duke..26-4 ranked 6th in the country..a young Autry..David Johnson..Billy Owens...LeRon Ellis..Conrad McRae...and Mike, the floor sweeper, Hopkins.

God, I still can't believe that team lost.

well they haven't picked the east regional yet so there's always a chance it could be in Charlotte.

85 is somewhat comparable to tonites Duke debacle as it was at the Dome.

Lehigh has some nice players. They don't have David Robinson. (And it was '86.)

According to Mike Waters, it's down to 4 sites--MSG, the Carrier Dome, the Rock in Newark, and the new Brooklyn facility.

Which means we won't be in the the East next year, because those are all Syracuse home courts.
