Sources: Nerlens Noel AND Shabazz Muhammad to Kentucky

That is a big risk going with sources instead of the actual person telling you. What if he is wrong how bad that will make him look
Not really. All he said was UK had a good chance of landing both; which has been known for months.

Rothstein wants to be in the know, but he has no idea.

He's more interested in restaurants and comparisons (bad ones) of former players to current ones, than he is in any actual basketball.

In response to BRNCUSE, all of what these guys have said, plus the fact that nobody really cares if the journalists get something wrong anymore. Hell, look at guys on twitter like IncarceratedBob that have a huge following even though he's wrong something like 80% of the time.

I just wanted to go into the off-season and Get Nerlen's put him at the center position and with the expected roster we have next year be preseason top 5 and have nonthing to worry about.

if true, that will be the best recruiting class of all time :noidea:

They're still in the running for the #1 PF Anthony Bennett also

"Multiple sources say there is more than a legitimate chance of Kentucky landing the top two prospects in the Class of 2012 in 6-foot-10 shot blocker Nerlens Noel and lefty wing Shabazz Muhammad.:

That's all the CBS article says. Still doesn't sound definite to me; Syracuse has a "legitimate" chance of landing Noel too.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone can read anything into that. As you said, Syracuse can say the same thing.

I have a source that says SU has a legitimate chance to land Noel, Coleman, and Grant

Rothstein is a joke. I doubt he has many recruiting sources. I met him at the BET once and my friend knows him pretty well. At the time (09) he told me and my friend that he thought Eugene Harvey was better than Flynn.
While I don't think he's a joke and I have worked with him, he isn't a connected media guy in terms of high school recruiting, but he is around the college game 24/7...so take what he says with a grain of salt. He has been more of an analyst than any sort of reporter as of late, but I wouldn't trust him as a source of concrete info yet. He's not the Evan Daniels type that seems to be around and on top of everything, breaking news and commitments.

Agreed on the analyst front.

Isn't that obvious?

And as far as looking bad if he's wrong, by referring to sources he can't be wrong unless he's lying or mis-understood what the sources told him.

Question. Does a source trump a gut feeling that's never wrong?

I'm going to state the obvious: Kentucky has a chance to pull in every recruit. This is like saying the roulette wheel is going to land on red or black.

This guy is just trying to be caption obvious. If UK gets both then people will say "WOW HOW'D YOU KNOW THAT YOU MUST HAVE THE BEST SOURCES EVER!!"

If he's wrong everyone will forget he tweeted this

We be considered like that too. We are Syracuse

Seriously, we'll be okay with or without Noel. Enjoy the summer.

I hate Kentucky and hate Calipari. But like it or not he has got one and done prospects to the NBA lottery for the last 3 or 4 years. Sure, the argument can be made it mostly do with the player. But its still a heck of a selling point and safe bet for a one and done hopeful. I can certainly see the allure of Kentucky for such a prospect.

I don't want Syracuse becoming that type of school. Don't mind getting one and done's and still like our chances with Noel... but would not want the entire program being based on such players either.

If true, UK will have lottery picks on their bench next year

Yeah, the story on the Nation of Orange site says Rothstein has sources saying Noel is going to UK, but the actual story just says more than legit chance or whatever.

I like getting the best talent out. And the best talent is usually a one and done

so i would take my chances
