Spring Game - Next Year

Living 750 miles away, I have never gone to a spring game. However, now that I am an official geezer (and as semi-retired as a workaholic can be) I am planning on going to next year's spring game. I am wondering if there are ways to make this more interesting. Some thoughts.

1. A pre-game gathering at a local watering hole the night before with the whole site invited.
2. "Official" hotel for out-of-towners.
3. Concerted effort to fill a section together.
4. Everyone contributes $44 for the program every spring

Just some thoughts - I am sure everyone can do better. Your thoughts?

Rumor has it that Ray Clark of the late, great Clark's Ale House is close to signing a lease with plans to re-open. Great simple menu, lots of good beers, no juke box or TV's (can you believe that?). That would be my vote for a meet and greet, if it comes to pass. Lot's of other good-great pubs within a mile of the Dome as well. The University Sheraton up on the hill would make a great "official" hotel--walking distance from the Dome. Usually have a nice jazz band playing in their bar on Friday nights as well.
