I always find Babers to be very straightforward in these interviews. He hints at what we all see as fans, he’s not trying to hide weaknesses and therefore, doesn’t take this high and mighty approach that fans can’t possibly know what they’re seeing. Very refreshing. He’s not defensive at all. Among the things we all seem to agree on:
Cisco needs to tackle better.
DeVito needs to handle pressure better. (He looks great in shorts, let’s see him when people are trying to tackle him),
The OL needs to block better
The NCAA tends to screw us
He also was very candid about him seeking out the 3-3-5...hinted that it fits our personnel, which is probably what he thinks we can realistically recruit to. I think he probably realizes we can’t recruit the Tampa 2 effectively, so he’s going to a defensive that fits the athletes we can get.
Really enjoy him as a coach.
