Staats, Iacono Join Men's Lacrosse Team

It will be very interesting to see how this all works out, with only one ball. Send them in in waves?

A lot of the highly ranked Frosh will redshirt plus Desko usuall runs 2 mid lines anyway, now he can run three or mix in the second depending on who is hot. Also based on some of the injury histories of these guys there will likely be some guys who miss a few games here and there.

4 man rotation at Attack: Maltz, Donohue, Rice, Galasso.
1st Midfield: Lecky, Loy, Ward.
2nd Midfield: Schoonmaker, Evans, Staats.

It's a nice problem to have. :D

Don't forget Maltz's brother Dylan, this guy is going to be really good.

Yup. It gives new meant to 'an embarrassment of riches'. LGO!!!

I haven't gotten too invested in Staats until he was actually on the roster. Now that he is in I just can't see Staats being second line middie, he is most likely the best offensive player on team and the coaches need to find a way to get him in the field regularly, not every third middie run. I personally think that the 2nd middie group OX lists is the better of the two. Staats will get the long pole and I like Henry or 22 vs a shorty. In reality, if they put him on attack full time, he has the potential to be a first team all-American and better than Lyle T.

Best guesses on 2014 line-up:

Attack: Rice, Galasso, Maltz with Donahue rotating in as the 4th.
Mid 1: Loy, Lecky, Schoony
Mid 2: Ward, Staats, Evans

Close D: Mullins, Young, Palasek
LSM: Harris, McCartney, Manning
SSDM: Jenkins, Grimm, Messina
Goal: Dom
FO: Anyone's guess here Buhr, Iacono, Daddio, Paduda, DeMarco etc..

really, really hope for better play at SSDM, given all the upgrades elsewhere. Don't want to point finger at young man in particular, but IMO we got abused here last year.
