This game scares me because I feel like we "non-cuse" glasses on, can win. At the same time I'm trying not to be excited too much because the letdowns are so draining. I really want to be positive though. This is a big game for us on the board I think because we want to win a game like this before and typically don't.

We’ll see how good Custis is against these athletes. If he can’t stetch the field then I think we will really struggle. I expect FSU to play very close to the LOS, smother, and try to shut down the short passing game. Much like how Atlanta was doing to Philly in Week 1. Philly got it going with their great OL and a very good back in Ajayi. Not sure if we can win without stretching the field. FSU will score points. Akers will bust one and they’ll get a bomb on us. We’ll have to keep pace.

That assumes Custis won’t be able to do what he did vs WMU and that we don’t have another WR who might be able to do some damage vs single coverage.

I’m not so sure. Plus - against WMU, Custis had his biggest catches out of the slot and FSU’s LB are young and smaller than normal

Correct. My assumption and fear. Hopefully Custis and Nykeim can win some battles. Not counting on Butler or Riley. Have no clue about Pierce.

The funny thing is I believe Taggart was getting close to the hot seat at USF last time we played them and beating us turned around their season and ultimately his career, as he later became a hot commodity. Hope history doesn't repeat itself.

When I start to feel good about the game, I remember that every Syracuse player will be matched up against someone who was more highly recruited. I recognize that there is far more to college football than recruiting talent, but it’s still a sobering thought.
