Starting to see why the staff why staff may have went with

Perhaps you may want to include the names of the teams here, or rethink your simple comparison. Just a thought.
Win is a win. At this point, the luxury of slicing them in any way would be useless. Allen - 0% win percentage when starting. Hunt 75%. Who do you go with?

Another thing to keep in mind is how efficient the offense is under Hunt. I believe the offense averages around 20 seconds between snaps.

Still too early to make a call on comparisons to Robin J. He was very inconsistent until his senior year. We have a long list of QBs whose senior year was considerably better than their other years. If Hunt stays on that trajectory then he'll be pretty good in a couple of years.

He's still the best option to win today.

Yeah I'm not sure how hunt compares with rj but rj was abysmal his first three years -- .466 completion percentage, 11 tds, 15 ints. Rj was better as a senior but at this point If you're going to say anything it's that hunt actually does look like the second coming of rj. Let's hope he figures it out a little quicker.

i don't know i think Hunt has a thousand times more pocket awareness then RJ ever did.

He's only a sophmore, got to be patient. Was Nassib this good as a sophmore, no but look how he got better as time went on.

Umm, nassib was this good as a sophomore. Actually he was appreciably better (2300+ Yards, 56%, 19 tds/8 ints). Hunt is playing in an offense far more conducive to putting up big numbers but has really struggled the past two weeks. I think hunt could be pretty solid when all is said and done but I'm not sure how you're coming to the conclusion that he's tangibly better than nassib was at this point.

Couldn't agree more. I just meant that I think people forget how bad rj was his first three years. As bad as hunt has been he still compares favorably to rj

Nassib was 54% his sophmore year, Hunt is at 64%. Both had pretty poor receiving corps. Nassib also played some as a Freshman though. Let's give him a couple games

Very true. He is calm back there too. Maybe having him a run a lot a la Denard Robinson at Michigan could be what this team needs moving forward. It's clear his arm and anticipation has a lot to be desired and our WRs are poor. Sucks. He's a winner and a leader though, no question. West...oy. Runs in mud it seems. Hunt will continue to get better. Good win today!

Allen can fling it into a tight window, but has zero pocket awareness. WR play horrible.

Hunt has issues throwing, but has great pocket awareness and needs to be accounted for with the run. WR play horrible.
It's noticeable that the whole team is getting better and quickly. You can tell there is a lot of effort going into it this season. Everyone deserves a pat on the back today. Though it was quite a while ago, looking back at Allen's high school clips he had good pocket awareness with very good mid and long range accuracy.

I agree. He is the best we have right now and if he gets better throughout the year, then great. If not, Mitch Kimble, A.J. Long and Hunt can compete for the starting spot next year. I like that Hunt is only a sophomore and has a lot of maturing to do as a young quarterback. Even though it is painful to see him throw so many ints and miss open receivers.

Think can't underestimate belief and the belief the team has in him and wanting to play hard. First ever road start and 4th game. He's doing okay but the improvising plays he does are most important right now. He will only get better and he'll have many bumps ahead but this experience will help us down the road next couple of seasons.

I never said he should not be starting, but I think it's clear to see where the deficiencies are. I just thunk some of the throws that he was asked to make ain't happening, how about some seam routes, some more stuff up the middle. I just like that he makes plays with his feet and is a load to take down, he has good vision. I think the two freshman will push him next year as well.

We have to find enough pass to keep the run game productive but we have to realize Hunts limitations and not ask him to make throws he can't. Fine line.

3-3, still about one game back from where many thought we would be. Next week would be an good one to get. I didn't think we would play as hard as we did. Shafer did a good job getting the kids ready.

Apples to apples Nassib had no offensive line as a sophomore, really can not compare

If they can get 150-200 yards out of the passing game we should be fine...

Not a good sign that we compare Hunt to RJ. For those who memory has waned, let me just say that RJ could not hit a wide open receiver
standing still holding a fishing net.

He's not as good of a passer as he was his first two games, and not as bad as his last two. If he passes like somewhere in the middle, I'm ecstatic. Guy has started all of 4 games, one of which was against a top 3 team and some of you guys are burying him. Nassib overthrew lots of guys last year, too, and took heat for it. Relax, Hunt will be good, just not as good as we had for the last couple of years (throwing). He will win games, though.

there was some buzz about the team's commitment to drew allen. hunt stepped in and initially the offense gained a few gears. now the superman cape has been stripped off and it's understandable why the spring qb race was close. hope the team rallies behind whoever gets the snaps. hunt should def start next game and i see drew allen only as a short term capable backup this season but one more poor outing and who says the race for the future ain't on again.

seems to be a lot of confusion between Hunt and his receivers. What happened to the throw to Clark over the middle? What happened to Clark? After seeing Hunt perform under pressure, it's clear he does need some work. He telegraphs just as bad as Allen at this point. As the season goes on, I expect that things will slow down for him a little and we will see what he's really capable of.

Yeah, gotta be patient with hunt. I just think many folks sell nassib short by failing to note that he spent three years playing in an ultra-conservative offense. That makes a big difference. But I do like hunt and think he needs some time.

Honestly I don't think either are the answer and both should be seeing the field. Hunt isn't the answer long term, one of the other guys will be starting next year, my guess being Long or Kimble. I keep reading about Hunt's ability to run and yes he gained good yards on the ground but 130 yards passing in two games is dreadful and we won't continue to win when teams stack the box and force the throw. Hunt is slow to make decisions and has a slow release and weak arm, picks will happen. Play for this year not for next year.

This will probably sound confusing but, Allen is a better QB, but Hunt is the better SU QB for where this team is.

I agree. But Allen needs a better supporting cast. Hunt just has that intangible that this team needs. A very big part of our problem is not Hunt or Allen. It is the fact that our WR group cant get open.
