Stat of the day

This defense is baller. I didn’t feel the least bit concerned at that lateral on the defensive TD. These guys gave it well in hand

Over three games six different guys have interception. They all have as many receptions as Hackett and Benson

And those picks should keep increasing. The last two games Duke has had 12 turnovers

12?! wow I didn’t know that.

I think the most telling stat of the day is only 14 first downs against the Georgia Tech defense.
I'm glad we won, but that's not remotely good enough to win many more like this.
We can't count on 4 or 5 turnovers every game to keep us in it.

The yards per play was ok, they only ran 68 plays or something like that. They also had big plays.

They ran 20 plays more than us. That means they had a lot more time of possession, too.

Agree. Love that we finally cashed in on turnovers and hit a few long plays. Equally concerned that the offense cant string anything sustainable together.

Sterlin and Babers are in the trade 50yd plays and a lead for time of possession, all day every day

Stat of the day, stat of the day, bum bup, stat of the day, stat of the day... here comes that what, stat of the day.

We had 6 drives that went 3 and out yesterday before garbage time, not including the one drive that resulted in the INT on the 2nd play. The first drive we also only picked up 1 first down off the first play.

The quick strike drives definitely played a part in the TOI, but if the offense can't score ideally I'd like to see the offense get 2 first downs every drive to help put us in better spots from a field position standpoint.

I had to keep the roster open on my laptop, sorted by number. I couldn't keep up with who's who among the youth.

That didn’t work well the first two games.

I don't think that's a very telling stat when you're hitting big plays and starting with shorter fields from turnovers. We went from an offense that couldn't do anything, to one that ran the ball, hit big plays and scored 4 TDs.

There's a long way to go, and there were 2nd half struggles, but everything wasn't going to be fixed in 1 week. It was very encouraging and should only improve with time.

Big plays are great but it’s hard to rely on those. Still need to buckle down on the consistent 6-10 yard gains, vs the boom bust plays.

Don't disagree, but if the opponent thinks you can hit the big plays, it helps the strategy moving toward the shorter stuff.

Plus if you can run the ball, it opens up play action.

We'll certainly have struggles going forward, but took some big steps on Saturday.

No doubt about that. Still, our defense gets that game ball(s).

Great point and that's not why I am measuring up the schedule to see how many we can win. We showed a pulse and life today but they gashed us all day and just coughed it up 5x. They beat us from the Los, also with many frosh on the offensive side of the ball. Classic cfg where the final score doesn't relate to who played better, but rather who was more opportunistic.
