stats showing how rare a season Christmas is having

misunderstood - sorry

I'm not really sure how to take this post. I've never seen you use those last 5 letters together in a post before.

J/k

But if he had the capabilities he's showed this year, he would have been used more than he was last year. We all saw those capabilities beginning to develop then but they weren't fully realized then. Anyone could see that. You don't just ignore an 18 and 9 type guy.

JB himself said it...his words, not mine. Personally, I was saying during his Soph year he had A LOT more to offer.

I'm not saying he had ALL these weapons at his disposal last year - but he wasn't the useless one entry pass per week dud down low ppl seem to like to believe he was. Just don't think he developed this entire repertoire of moves in one summer because he "wanted it" and JB told him to do it finally.

We just ran a CJ ISO offense instead last year.

going 25-0 or whatever it was to start didn't give much incentive to change gears. at some level boeheim knew it wasn't sustainable all along but pretty hard to change player habits during that kind of run

JB says a lot of things, especially in public. That's his job. How many hardest working players ever do you think we've had?

Eh, I like to post it for a couple reasons. One, because people always counter with that. Two, because those ppl usually use JB's quotes to defend Cooney. So it makes me laugh a little.

Also, the hyperbole usually serves a purpose. We just played Otto Porter, or were going to, so saying he was the best SF in Big East history is just that - JB likely exaggersting to compliment someone that was tearing us up. Same for Olivier Hanlan's awesomeness, etc.

If he says someone is the hardest working player ever, it's probably because they're a hard worker - wants to reward them, make it known, fend off criticism, keep them motivated...whatever. They are probably working hard though.

I'm not sure (tbh) what purpose the hyperbole would serve in that quote. Rak isn't going to be motivated to play better last year. No real need to say it...

He may be exaggerating though. He did say toward the end of the season last year we needed to look inside more though - it just never manifested itself on the court.
