I hope you guys aren't grouping all of us together...
Some of our fans have gone off the deep end since losing last weekend. I'm not sure why because it's just a game.No way gbo - you’re good like Lou the FSU guy and Hoos that. Those Tiger net guys need to settle down - the guy who hurt himself was a poster here. We enjoyed kicking your arses on the field - but wish you or your fans no ill will in the future. In fact - I hope you win the rest of your games (esp NC ST)
No not at all,but the one post about players attacking the band and fans during a live game is just not true.Coach Shafer would have thrown his ass off the team if a player did do this.Scott did not tolerate players fighting or jawing in practice as he saw this as a major distraction and for him allowing this go on during a game is just total B.S. and with them throwing stuff at fans or taking a swing at at a drum major T.V. would have picked up on this so fast as they are along the sidelines too. Not to mention reporters too.I hope you guys aren't grouping all of us together...
2 kinds of Clemson fans: Authentic, nice, informed, classy fans (some of which post here) and others who put on that stuff with a syrupy southern sweetness but are really classsless .

Because I live in NC I know a lot of fans of the different ACC schools. Most are decent folks...except Hokies. I haven't met a Hokie yet that isn't an idiot.Like fans at most schools - not everyone’s a saint and not everyone is the devil. It’s all about which ones you meet and how much you like to stereotype people based on a limited encounter.
If they are complaining about HCSS, he’s moved and is coaching now much closer to Clemson and they can tell him all about it much easier than we can.![]()
debate's over, Uconn's cooler than rutgers
"Many of the Syracuse fans were drinking the whole game"
Guilty.

I was in band in 2014. Before the Tiger Band halftime show, I was standing on the Cuse sideline as we waiting to take the field, about 5 minutes before the 2nd quarter ended.
Those Cuse coaches were telling their players to fake injuries. I physically heard Scott Schafer tell one of their safeties "if they get into the red zone, go down, fake a cramp, whatever, but GO DOWN".
Sure enough, we drove towards the Hill endzone, attempted a pass into the endzone, and the Cuse Free Safety went down just as he was instructed.
I also saw lots of Syracuse players coming over the bench to fight the band. They were getting in our faces, a lineman took a swing at one of the drum majors. They were trash talking, throwing stuff at Clemson fans, flipping off the crowds, etc. and the coaches were right alongside encouraging their players, their S&C coach was telling the Cuse players to "light them up and kick their ###", and he was referring to Cuse players starting fights with Clemson fans. Yup, one of their assistant coaches was encouraging his players to swing at Clemson fans and jaw at them. Schafer and the DLine coach were telling the Cuse DLineman to "hit Stoudts injured shoulder, take him off the roster", as in "hit Stoudt so hard that we re injure his shoulder and end his career".
I was shocked to witness this in person, and there are dozen of other Tiger Band members that saw this too.
I know there is a new coach, Dino Babers, but there are still players and assistant coaches on that squad that were there under Schafer. That thug culture is still alive and well at Syracuse, believe me.
The bottom line is that Syracuse is nothing but a bunch of thugs. They act like thugs, they practice like thugs, they play like thugs, and their coaches encourage them to act like thugs on the field because they know that's the only chance they have at winning. Its sad. I cant stand that program and it sucks that we lost to them, but I am very happy our program and coaches don't encourage that type of culture. Its sad.
I work in finance so this subset is admittley skewed by folks who are paid to be more logical/analytical than the general population.
I resent the implication that our fans have to be drunk to do crazy things. Sober or drunk , our fans were going nuts. I don’t really drink much but that doesn’t deter me from not embracing idiocy at special times. Just ask my husband and kids.![]()
Agreed. As the OP who linked the story, I can also vouch for the Clemson fans I know in real life as being great people. Not just good...great people.
My office is in Greenville and I have clients who know I'm a Cuse fan. On Monday, Clemson fan clients of mine came by on their lunch breaks and after work just to congratulate me. I was blown away.
Nothing but love for Clemson fans, their team and coaches.
Agreed.
I'm in Charlotte and this town is filled w/ Clemson, and indeed, ACC fans of every stripe. I've never had a negative interaction with any opposing fans except, wait for it...NC State fans. They are the most defensive and insecure football and basketball fans in our league, and they seem to have a weird, misguided dislike of SU going back many years.
Getting annual beatdowns by Duke, UNC, FSU, VT, et al, has made them perpetually miserable, and for some reason, they think that we are "below" them in athletic stature. I generally scoff in their direction, but they are by far, the fanbase I dislike the most.
