Looking at the national leaders in steals today I noticed a couple of things. First, Tyler is 7th in the country (1st in ACC) in steals per game at 2.76. Looking down the list a bit further, Trevor Cooney comes in tied for 25th in steals at 2.35 per game.
Pretty impressive!
But what might even be more impressive is the steal to turnover ratio. As expected Tyler's ratio is very good at 2.04, but do you know who's is even better? Cooney comes in at an astounding 2.5 ratio. That may be the best in the country! ESPN lists the top 100 players in steals and only FIVE players have ratios of 2 or better and TWO of them are our starting backcourt! Not bad.
Oh, and Mister All-World Defense Aaron Craft has a ratio of only 1.1.
