"Just easy completions" was my favorite line in there. I was so baffled that we absolutely never seemed to run any hitches or slants last year.
That always boggled my mind too. Our guys didn't have the athleticism to break a play or shed a tackle on flat feet. It's easier to make things happen when you're already running.

That is very true presuming they can catch the ball while moving.bWe have had tight ends recently that must have roots n the ground to have any chance of making a reception I won't mention the names. I think we have some new TEs that will reverse this trend. I'm thinking Dunkelberger and or Provo.

Yea, I mean sheeeeesh! You take our 15 bubble screens a game and turn them into slant passes and that right there will make such a massive difference for this offense. The bubble screen is laughable unless you have the correct personnel, which we didn't.

God I hope Hunt can hit some throws this year...

I hope so as well. I don't want to see AJ out there again. I would not be surprised if Shafer put in Dungey or Womack if it came down to a choice. This of course will be seen in fall practice Considering the staff is working hard on securing QB recruits the recruiting season, I think the chances are good that we might see a freshman this season which in itself is not a good thing One way or another it means Hunt is ineffective or injured again anAJ blowing another chance.

How did AJ Long "blow his chance?"

Apparently by being a true freshman forced to play when he wasn't quite ready.

AJ blowing another chance.

We threw AJ into the Sun last season.

You forgot: Behind a brokedown OLine and without a proven dynamic weapon (Estime), and dealing with FOCGMFI (FormerOffensiveCooridnatorGeorgeMcF*&It)
I agree with you, aside from Estime being a "proven weapon", but that's a matter of semantics.

SU fans. MAYBE with Lester we get to see some creativity but until I do its just a pot dream.

Thats true but he came in with a resume that would seem have indicated he had quality sun screen. the other two" throw -ins "were not much better. think the two incoming QBs will quickly develop and surpass AJfrom the get go.

Steve will still have "swag" with or without his long hair. I'm going to predict all ACC WR in 2015. AJ will be okay. He just needs a little time to develop. Give the kid a break.

Anyone who thought AJ Long would be ready to play QB at this level as a true freshman should turn in their badge.

Or they were drinking Kool-Aid made at the RutgersAl fruit stand.

the thing with AJ that I have a problem with is his penchant to run if he can't find his receiver. If the play thats called he needs to pass not to start running and get thrown for a loss. He isn't fast enough to get around the edge and the offense suffered with this action from him. If he can pass and complete the pass or run on a called run the great.

He was a true freshman who wasn't ready yet.

Have you watched college football before? When plays break down, college QB's make their living with their feet. I remember during the wake forest game he ran one in around the edge. Its not his fault that line was a mess and his receivers struggled to get open... Oh and that he was a freshman QB in a ridiculous offense that got a new signal caller half way through the season. Hunt as a freshman, in this situation, would have got his braces knocked off. NO FRESHMAN WOULD HAVE DONE WELL IN THIS SITUATION. Did he have some hiccups? Sure. Kid still has some growing to do, both physically and mentally but I'm glad he's on this team and I'm proud to have a player with his dedication and work ethic.

Sorry for the rant but I'm sick of this kid getting slammed and I can't wait for his haters to eat crow.

I believe the pass game will feature more Play Action than straight drop back, so there will probably be progressions... Short, Middle, Long. The bubble screen will not be utilized much, if at all, but, screen game will probably factor in. More traditional screens than bubbles.

So we're going back to a pro-style offense?

Guess I'll have to wait for that new $500M arena before the program turns the corner.
