We have some very tough games left. At Pitt, at Duke, at Virginia, at Wake and at FSU will not be easy regardless of what has happened with the conference so far. There is no shame in losing to any of these teams on the road if that happens.

Kansas should be higher based on how they're playing, though 3 of their losses are to teams ahead of them.

Watch out for SDSU winning out. The Mountain West is terrible this year, though they do have a game in the Pit coming up at the end of Feb.

We better keep winning because a lot of these teams won't be losing more than a game or two more the rest of the regular season (Wichita St, SDSU, Nova maybe) due to weak conferences.

I'm wondering what would happen if Nova were to lose only one or two more the rest of the way, while we lose maybe up to 3 or 4. Would they get the 1 in the East over us? Would we both get the East?

Don't forget Miami. That could be one of the toughest games left. They almost knocked us off in the Dome and we know they're going to slow the game to a crawl. That game has me very nervous on Saturday...

No chance. Going undefeated in any major conference where you have been #1 all season would never move a team down. We are both not going undefeated but I see your point.

#1 what? In the AP Poll or NCAA overall seed? Agree with Marsh; Arizona isn't being moved off #1 in the rankings until they lose. But in a hypothetical world where both teams run the table (and right, not happening), I would be pretty sure of SU getting the #1 overall seed.

I'm nervous about every conference road game. As we saw with BC game there are no gimmes on the road.

What's so funny is that if our name was Duke and not Syracuse, we would be gaining #1 votes every week. We continue to beat very good teams, but get nowhere. Meanwhile, some idiot in UT moved us down to #4. Makes sense.

Never understood the fascination with "gaining number one votes." The only way we are getting to number one is if Arizona loses.
