Stony brook...

I understand their talent worrying people but a "letdown"? We havent won a game in forever. I can't imagine a letdown is the reason we lose. We only lose if we have less talent on Saturday IMO
 
As long as the players aren't looking ahead to Minnesota, they shouldn't have a problem. I think this team is hungry to get a win and will do everything in there power to make this a blowout.

Logically you are right. But, logic will only take you so far. Who knows where their heads will be 4:00 Saturday?

Agree, I can't imagine a letdown for a team who hasn't experienced a victory since October 21, 2011. I mean, I get that it's a sandwich game and generally uninteresting opponent, who, in Lane Kiffin's words, will be playing their Super Bowl in a morgue of a stadium.

But still, our team should be looking forward to putting it all together this week and taking their frustrations out on this team.
 
Stony has played a Central Connecticut State team that was 4-7 last year, and a Div 2 team.

Did your post get messed up? You forgot to bash the coaching staff or blame them for the players not being focused on saturday even though saturday hasn't happened yet.
 
I don't see a let down at all. This is a good football team starving for a victory. I expect this to be a blowout because these guys are going to explode. I feel bad for Stony brook.
 
Agree Jake. The board is waaaay underestimating Stony Brook. This isn't Maine or Colgate or any of the other tin can FCS teams we have brought in. This school is ramping up into a DI type school in a hurry, in multiple sports. (see: lax, baseball).

I think we will take care of business but those thinking we are going to stomp this team aren't paying attention. And please feel free to bring up this thread agin if there is a stomping. I would love to be humiliated by this post in about 4 days.

I get that Stony Brook has multiple D1 transfers, the Big Ten's leading rusher a couple years ago, some linemen who are probably on par with a couple of our linemen. But 11 vs. 11, our team is better than their team. And I think with our new offense, it will be difficult for Stony Brook to hang IMO.

I think we crush them.

This isn't Delaware, or App State, or Montana, or ANYONE LIKE THAT! Want to know how often Stony Brook has been to the FCS playoffs? ONCE! LAST YEAR! WHEN BUFFALO ING KICKED THEIR ASS!

Um they are currently ranked 16th. Let's not act like they are a bad 1AA team.

This game will be like the SU v USC game from saturday. Except to the 'girls chagrin we are going to be USC and SB will be SU.

We absolutely should win and I will be very disappointed if it is closer than 3 TDs. But that being said they aren't awful and we 0 for our last 7, barely beating worse teams RI and Tulane last year. Didn't Pitt a similar team as us talent wise just lose to a similar team talent wise? Why is it not possible?

Which board? The board I've been reading has had a slew of people stating we could lose, listing all the NFL pro bowlers on the SB roster, how the team will be looking ahead to Minny, we don't have pugh, we are SB's whole season and they will want to knock us off, and 2 threads just on the size of SB's team.
