With 11 seconds to go in the first half, ball on Pitt 40, one timeout remaining, couldn't believe we didn't throw a ten yard pass over the middle to set up a fg. Instead two Hail Mary's to the end zone. Poor play calling.

We did try... Nassib couldn't find anyone open so he chucked it out of bounce, maybe that is what you are referring to as the first hail Mary?

Quite sure he threw two to the end zone. Could be wrong.

We had 1 TO. Spiked ball with ~12 seconds left @ Pitt 41. Then incomplete to right sideline, ~6 seconds left, then the hail mary with 1 TO left. Thought they should have gone with a 10-yd route and give Krautman a chance from about 48yds

Tom Coughlin agrees. :D

we had no timeouts left
we had no timeouts left because we stupidly ice kickers.

icing kickers doesn't work. it's been proven. but we still do it because that's what coaches do. numbers shmumbers

We had 2 TO's used 1 to ice the kicker and took the other to the locker room with us.

I was surprised we didn't use it before the hail mary to help set it up.

Would have liked to see the FG unit come on ... could have set up a nice fake, would have given "Hungry Chuck" Loeb a chance to chuck one down field.

its amazing how something worked once and now so many do it. same thing for bball. tough to shoot FT after going full out and yet so many times the call the TO.
