Student Association discusses a potential change to how students get season tickets for FB/BB

I already know. From this semesters bill.

$203 Activity fee
$213 Co-curricular fee
$354 Health fee
$200 Internet fee
$70 MPP fee
$320 College program fee
$1360 total semester fees
$1,196 per semester at Georgia Tech, including a $127 Athletics Fee.
Transportation $81.00
USG Institutional $544.00
Technology $107.00
Student Activity $123.00
Rec-Facility $54.00
Health $160.00
Athletic $127.00

At GA Tech they only make a certain number of "free" tickets available per football and basketball event. Students need to register online several days before the event. To have a guaranteed seat there are student season tickets as well (at an additional cost).

Speak for yourself, not every kid is a trust fund kid from Nassau/Suffolk County. My pocket money was what I had to work for, and $200 was impossible to come up with. I had plenty of friends the same.

I totally understand what you are saying, but I believe you took his post way out of context

In retrospect, yes you may be right. If this fee was tacked on as part of my loan, you're right, in the big picture another $200 over 4 years is a drop in the bucket compared to what i came out owing total.

Except when all 12,000 want to go to the Duke hoops game.
UVa students get into all regular season games for all sports just by showing their IDs. What UVa started to do 40 years ago when a similar situation happened is to require students to pick up a ticket in advance to get into the basketball games. dook does the same thing. It's still a free ticket, but they have to pick one up; they can't get in with just their ID like they do at a football game. X number are set aside for them at each game and any that are not picked up by a certain date go on sale to the general public. This year, the Lehigh game is the day before Thanksgiving and the Cal and Oakland games are during Christmas break, so tickets for those games will be available.

He'll get value from each except I don't know what the MPP fee is. He'd also get his money's worth from the athletic fee. So I'm speaking about random parent and student. When it's a fee that a student is getting zero benefit I'm not sure I'm for it. But I definitely know it's a piss poor attitude for someone to say it's just one more thing for someone to complain about.
MPP = My Parents Pay

Maybe it's a fee to cover the troughs in the dome?:p

I would like to know what it means. Guess I'll have to call.

$100 for tickets with the stipulation that they stop jingling their freaking keys.

Maybe they should hire another vice president to look into these fees ...

Wonder if it's for Maxwell students - MPP degree is masters of public policy. Wouldn't think they'd charge undergraduates though.

Found this -maybe monthly payment plan fees for parents who pay monthly??? It's ESF but might apply to SU students too.

Figured it out and it's not a standard fee. It's a fee for those who use the Monthly Payment Plan.
