SU #1 in both polls

Amazing!!! But note that ESPN says the coaches voted SU # 1 despite the scandal ... what the hell!

UNC with 2 #1 AP votes? Seems excessive.

Students... we need a giant Keita head ... ASAP!

They also downplayed our achievement a bit. Yes--what they say is true, but not many teams have had a tough schedule already.

"Syracuse doesn't field a dominating playmaker and has risen to the top despite only one victory over a Top 25 team. The Orange also lack a high-profile matchup in the near future.
They beat then-No. 9 Florida 72-68 on Dec. 2, but don't play a Top 25 team again until Jan. 7, when they host No. 11 Marquette (9-0).
Kris Joseph, a senior forward, leads the Orange with 13.7 points per game."

But we're #59 in the Yahoo! User Rankings :)

I'm excited to be #1. Sure, it will make us a bigger target for opposing teams. But I say - bring it on!

I feel bad for those who do not care about the rankings and go on about the only important thing is being #1 at the end of the season. We all agree with that of course. However, the higher you're ranked during the season, the higher your NCAA seed. In the Tournament, it's survive and advance and the higher your seed, the better chance you have of advancing.

Let's Go Orange #1!!!

I'm pretty sure Dion is a dominating playmaker, albeit he has his moments, just like any other college star. Dion has all of the ability in the world to dominate a college basketball game, and as time goes on, I think we'll start to see it more and more on a consistent basis. By the end the year, I bet you won't see these kinds of remarks.

I think most of the teams in the top 5 have played a tougher slate of upper echelon opponents than we have.
