SU 50 at Duke 62: Sun Jan 22, 12 PM

No overreaction there.
Sorry lol I tend to over react when my teams lose. I'll come back down to earth once the pain from the loss goes away.

Schedule is undoubtedly tough the rest of the way. But that’s the way of the land in the ACC. Too much talent to lose out though. GT was a bad loss, no other way around it. Every other loss in conference were to top tier teams.

To be honest I'm not disappointed that they lost but in how they've looked/played most of year, especially with respect to fundamentals. Don't see much evidence of teaching based on same mistakes over and over.

Half court offense has been disappointing for sure. Not a ton of sets and a LOT of leaning on Dyasia and Teisha to make something happen on their own.

Shootout to Coach Q for being a terrible human and also assisting in us on missing out on having Shayann Day Wilson in orange...
This team could have had
Day-Wilson, Lattimore, Williams, and the 6-7 center from Brazil starting. Fair and Hyman, and some of the other pieces on this team would have been a top 5 team.

Too bad Felisha couldn’t persuade some of them to stay. It became a different world though too with Covid, the extra Covid year, the transfer portal and NIL all occurring pretty much at the same time to deal with along with the Q fallout.

Those players listed above either never arrived or were gone by time FLJ arrived so I don't subscribe to we could have been a top 5. The team has it's moments where we look like a good team but seem to lose focus at critical points. While we get some good offensive rebounds, we are getting out rebound most games lately, very poor 3pt shooting and have been a terrible team on the road the past 4 seasons. (blame some of that bad juju on those ugly uniforms with white shoulders...burn them!)

Agree about the rebounding and particularly the 3 point shooting. It seems like a lot of our opponents have at least one shooter that you know it's going down when she shoots. Woolley and Fair are certainly capable of getting hot, but we're just too streaky overall. That's not a good sign that Hyman leads the team at only 33%.

You’re right, Day-Wilson, Lattimore, Cardosa all left right after the 2021season and didn’t even play for Vonn Read either. Priscilla Williams was the only player that left after Felisha was named coach. Williams was a medical redshirt who hadn’t been able to play for most of the previous 2 seasons at SU. She’s at USF now and is still playing only limited minutes for them, maybe still recovering from her injury.

Speaking of rebounding, did you see the stats on So. Carolina's game from Sunday? 74 Rebounds - Cardoso with 16 of them. Watched them a few times and even though Cardoso only plays 15-18 mins, she has become much more aggressive since they started league play.

Of all the players we lost, Cardoso hurts the most. 6-7 players with her talent don't just show up every day and wow, what a difference she would make for us.

And she doesn’t even start in her junior year at SC.
