SU 62 at Notre Dame 83: Thurs Jan 27, 6 PM

We can’t let the favorites lose’
ACC league money at stake as little as it may be for women's bball. We're never going to get a shot in this league until we start blowing out teams and that goes for the men's bball team too.

Edit: I'll add in the football team too because they definitely have been hosed by ACC refs more times than I can count

Sorry but Notre Dame isn’t very impressive.
Cardosa should have stayed along with Emily, who is being misused at Louisville. Cardosa is barely playing at South Carolina, and won't next year either.

Q did us no favors. No favors at all and we will pay a cost for it for a couple of years. All the the other teams in the ACC I have no doubt are glad to see him get what was coming to him. Vonn Read should be a placeholder, burn it down and start over.

It's impossible to play with 5 players, and 1 bench player who should be the 8th or 9th player on the team. Have Priscilla as a red shirt, 2 players must be injured who haven't played since early in the season. And the remaining 2 players are freshman, not ready to play yet.

Yes, I agree and thus all the off-season changes in football. With the situation, for this year of women’s hoops it’s got to be very frustrating for Vaughn and the rotational players we have to be outplaying/out hustling teams only to fatigue late in games and in addition be robbed by officials who are working with the higher ranked team to guarantee that team a win!

Honestly this team has done very well, considering all of the above. Too bad ND ran over us for the last 4 minutes because at that point it was a one possession game. We have stood toe to toe with many top 25 teams this year. Agree burn it all down, but there are a couple of players on this team that can give us a nice core to build around. Hyman being one. The freshman from Dallas looks to be a good shooter. Priscilla if she stays with the team. And a couple of these transfers may have one year left, not sure. I think we have something for a new coach to build on by hitting the portal again. And also every game has been fun to watch, at least.

I agree this team has played well all season and I've enjoyed watching them. While our record this year will not reflect the hard work and effort that has been on the court. I love their commitment to each other, to the game and to SU and applaud them for it. As for the burn it all down, I believe Q already did that. My hope is that SU already has a list of potential candidates ready and that we will have a coach in place that will have time to build a team from portal. The portal will be recruiting home for next few seasons. If everyone stays we still will have 6-7 scholarships next year.

Coop, do you know exactly which players will still have eligibility? It is hard to figure out with so many coming in this summer, the new rules, and the COVID extra year that was awarded.

And those who haven’t played because of injuries - will they be back? TY

No, just trying to estimate, we only used 12 of 15 scholarships this year, so we have 3 there..Styles and Murray both grad students so this is last year, that's 2 more. so 5. Thornton also grad so last year would be a sixth one but she's been out so long could she apply for another year. And add 1 more thinking someone would leave..7

My friends, we are sitting on a gold mine with Acting HC, Vaughn Read!
No surprise. Everyone knew he was the force behind the Final Four run. It was well stated.
The bigger question still remains about what he knew and did not know about problems within the program. Was he in the room.
All respect for his abilities. Once again a decision that will be made by those who have more knowledge than we do. I have total respect for what he has done with this season and how he seems to treat the players.

I too don’t want any coaches who participate in any form of abuse! I also believe that John Wildhack will do his research to make certain that we don’t have any questions about abuse on whoever is appointed our next head coach!

Personally, my bias is to have a woman. Perhaps if Vaughn is not selected a place might be created for him advising both men’s and women’s programs. It would be a shame, IMO, to lose this encyclopedia of basketball!

Agree 100%. I always wonder if he would stay as an assistant coach. But an advisory position is also interesting.
