SU 83 at Boston College 70 : Sun Dec 20, 2 PM [ACCN]

what the heck happened to Emily?! Geezum, I hope she's okay, the look on her face is frightening
No idea what happened with her. All was well one minute and then she was crying hysterically. I think they were trying to stretch her back, so maybe it is some kind of a back injury. Out of all the kids on the team, she is the last one I would guess would get hurt and cry like that. She normally seems very hard nosed and tough.

Hope she is okay. Seeing her like that is very worrisome.

Some random observations:

BC was really small but they played really hard and hustled all game long. It seemed like 2 or 3 of them fell down every time down the court.

Cardoso dominated the game from the very start. She is really quick and athletic, understands the game well already and my god, she is going to be an All American. No question on that.

Fisher got the start and did a decent job filling in for Tiana but didn’t get much PT. I think Q paired Lewis and Washington at guard a lot, and used Williams a little there too.

I think Lewis is a lot better playing off the ball. When she runs the point, the ball doesn’t get shared much and she usually ends up taking a wild layout attempt or forcing a shot late. BC wasn’t very good defensively so she was fairly successful doing this today.

Strautmane does a lot of little things to help out. Probably the best on the team at getting the ball to Cardoso down low. Gets rebounds, can finish, plays good defense. Unsung hero.

In the games I have even, Priscilla has really struggled. Has taken a ton of shots, many ill advised, and has played awful defense. Don’t know what happened, but her defense was way better today. She also scored quite a bit. Usually by sneaking behind the defense when BC tried to press Syracuse. She is a terrific athlete and can finish well, even really early in her career.

Engslter has subjugated her offense and accepted a role as a rebounder and facilitator on offense. Unselfish and very good passer. Physical and excellent rebounder. Can handle the ball and finish too. We really don;t have another player like her on the roster. Hope she is okay.

AFG and MDT are getting a lot less playing time with Cardoso’s arrival and they aren’t playing well when they get in. Hope this changes.

I think Q played 11 players more than 10 minutes last game. This game only 7 got double figure minutes. Major change in approach. The maniacal substitutions against UNC were a little over the top. This was a lot better.

Kind of amazing that the 1st and 3rd leading scorers were true frosh. Q is not afraid to play talented young players and severely reduce minutes for really experienced players.

I was thinking Emily was having issues trying to slow down her heart rate, like when you get a rush of adrenalin and your heart races but hers would not calm down. That was scary, I hope she is okay.

Regarding Strautmane, I love her style of play. She is a warrior and will be missed when she leaves the team.

The team looked much better today but still I think they are trying to figure out who they are with so many new players. Cardosa is something else, she is just beginning to live up to her reputation. If this team can gel and Tiana comes back healthy, Cardosa's talent will take them very, very far. Man, I wish I could see them play in person.

I thought something like this also, and then she mini panic attacked. She was still sort of crying on the bench. My other thought was nausea all of a sudden or maybe bad cramps all of a sudden. She did appear to either be struggling to breathe or looking like she felt like vomiting. It scared me especially after the . St. player incident. Hope all is well with her. Everything else above, I pretty much agree on. That first quarter. Wish all games were like that...men and women. We saw what the next 4 years of Cardoza will be like. Wow. She was great. Kiki got going again also after struggling last game and first few minutes of this game.

I agree - LOVE Digna!! She's like the CJ Fair of the team, boards and shoots well.

Emily is a beast, just such a great all-around game.
Cardosa is a monster in the pain, she just imposes her will on opponents.
I wanna see her dunk in a game.
(she had vid of her doing that somewhere I saw)
