After placing four teams in the Final Four and eight in the postseason, Syracuse Athletics has entered the top 25 of the NACDA Directors' Cup Spring Standings for the first time in school history. The NACDA Directors' Cup recognizes collegiate athletics programs that maintain a broad-based program achieving success in many sports. Syracuse has a school-record 533 points, breaking last year's program-best of 452.5.

Great achievement by everyone involved; the coaches, the AD people and especially the players. I bet if you did an analysis of dollars spent to Cup points, Syracuse would be ranked even higher.

Schools like Stanford, UCLA, USC ... will always be ranked higher than us... because they play so many more sports... including some that practically no one else plays (e.g. water polo).

I didn't see where we are currently ranked, but I thought they said during the broadcast of the lacrosse championship that if we won the championship that it could put us at the time as high as 2 or 3. Obviously there are still points to be awarded as some sports like baseball have a ways to go before crowning champions.

they're currently T-25th, but will be passed handily by Arizona State, who will receive points for men's golf, baseball and women's T&

We would have been 2nd in the Capital One Cup if we would have won the Men's Lacrosse Championship game. sigh...

Would we have been #1 if the Women's Lax team had won too?

The steady climb up the table continues. Looks like there are no other points out there for the taking for us, so we'll probably fall into the 30s after the last update in late June, but that will be up from 49 from last year. Well done to the athletics department.

Capital One Cup has separate standings for men's and women's. This would have been only for men's. Before the Championship game we were in 13th I believe.
