One day we will win there, I hope I'm alive to see it
Our women played hard! No quit in this team and that is the danger zone that we are approaching. The character of the team will be tested over the course of the remainder of the season. Looking to the future, this team will need a serious influx of talent, especially in the areas of increased speed and athleticism on the perimeter and some height in the post. Journey Thompson, at 6-3, will be our tallest player next year, after her, the next tallest player is a guard, Sophie Burrows at 6-2. the current recruiting class, has two players at 6-1 and an athletic PG, who is 5-6. For the past 3 recruiting cycles, we have been unsuccessful in recruiting the post position. In the past, you could find hidden talent in the post in Europe...but there is no such thing as " Hidden" talent anymore. Cuse fans, how do you feel about our future?

Love this!

Weird substitution patterns. Schmitt hasn't played at all the past 3 or 4 games and gets 15 minutes. No minutes for Scott and Hawkins gets 3 minutes, Thompson only gets 7 minutes and Wilson plays half the game- not sure if some of this is dictated by injuries or the coach is just desperately searching for combinations that are functional. It's not exactly a dumpster fire but the winter is pretty bleak for both the men's and women's team.

Louisville at home especially is a tough task. Considering Woolley got injured during the game and had to sit out for a time and came back despite the injury, and that Varejao left the game injured, the team battled and did well against one of the top ACC women’s programs. The Cards are tied for 2nd in the ACC after Notre Dame and have now won 7 straight games. It doesn’t mean we aren’t disappointed but they battled hard. Hoping the team‘s injuries don’t linger.
