The obvious hole in this roster is bench scoring! We have too many scoring droughts...where a scorer off the bench could light a spark. That scoring option off the bench was supposed to be Potts! She got some run in the first half...I watched her pass up a lightly contested 3, passed the ball late in shot clock and we got a shot clock violation...then she went to the bench...never to return. I don't mean to single her out, but I don't understand a designated shooter who doesn't hunt for shots. The team showed heart...but we are missing some bench scoring. I like the fight this team showed. It was a shame to waste Uche's great showing. As I look at our bench, I don't see another option for scoring but Potts. How does Coach Jack build up confidence in her this late in the season...or as the old sports adage goes...She is ...what she is!

Shooters thrive off confidence. Coach has not shown much confidence in Potts in previous appearances pulling her off after minor errors. These were her first few minutes in a big game in a long time - no wonder she was a bit reluctant to shoot. This feels like a coaching problem not a player problem. Maybe your comment about confidence from the coaches rings true.

I wonder why. The speed of the game is certainly slower than the men's side of things. Maybe the better refs aspire to be in the men's game.

If we have any hope of being a good team next year, We have to keep Uche Izoje! She has the kind of talent, that you can build a team around. Her offensive game is getting more diverse and her fade away is unstoppable. She will be imposable to replace if we lose her. So, let's get that deal done1 Next up, Sophie Burroughs, sign her up as well. Those two are essential to the success of next year's team. We lose 4 players from this years team to graduation and have only signed one high school player, a point guard for next year. We will need quality guards to replace Dom and Laila; I don't see any player on the current roster, who can provide the kind of play we have gotten from these two this season. We will also need a genuine post player, 6-3 or taller to back up Uche and play the 4. We are top heavy and appear to have over recruited the point guard position with Velez, Olivia, and the freshman, Cam returning next year as well as the point guard HS player coming in next year. That is 4 point guards, and Maddy Potts, as the only shooting guard returning next season. We are missing out on the 5-11- 6-1 wing players that can score and run the floor. It will be very interesting how next year's roster comes together...
